If your team doesn't use Discord: I made a small Devvit app, Feed Relay, that sends new posts (and optionally comments, or only popular posts) from a sub you moderate to a Telegram channel or Slack instead, Discord too if you want. It waits a few minutes and skips what AutoMod or the mods remove, and if a post is deleted the message goes away too. It's free: https://developers.reddit.com/apps/feed-relay

Same limit as every Devvit app: it only works on subs you moderate. (I'm the developer, happy to take requests.)

I was attacked verbally on more than one reddit by the same user, leaving me with only one choice which was to delete all posts and start over, all because I asked if anyone could help me with some Motown vinyl records I was after, I'm supprised the MODs didn't say something

AI is going to ruin everything, more than it already is. It's too ripe for abuse, and it's getting harder and harder to tell it's AI. For all I know, you're AI. For all you know, I'm AI...

We let the genie out of the bottle and can never put it back...

Try using the browser version! Browsers use less power on your phone/device and I think the browser version is much more reliable and usable.

I am using the browser version! Stepping away from the apps have had some better results.

Most of the notices go into your notifications, but a lot of users have to go through tons of notifications and who has the  time to go through all of the notifications!

Maybe Reddit should introduce separate notifications that way we can view the most important messages and notifications.

Yes, that is what I was thinking too and why I left most of the auto comment deletes.

We will need a solution to this issue as the issue will continue to become more complex and frequent!

No, I have no interest in making alts.

Even if you yourself are not a bad faith actor, you provide cover to the majority of hidden profiles that use it to be bad faith actors.

I'd like to understand how you think that's my problem... 🙄😑

bro im not the one hiding my profile out of fear of harassment. i’m saying i understand why our posters would do it in an attempt to increase their perceived privacy. not everyone is super reddit literate either, believe it or not new users do still sign up, and there’s a bit of a learning curve

eta: and i still don’t understand what good a rule against hidden profiles is when literally the entire mod team can see all (live, undeleted) profile activity? i genuinely can’t even tell which of our posters’ profiles are hidden unless someone else mentions it in the comments

Hidden profiles do not protect you from harassment. This website has allowed unlimited alts since time immemorial; if you're worried about harassment, make an alt.

EDIT: Oh, your profile is hidden. That would be why you're pretending to not understand the inherent awfulness of hidden profiles existing on this platform; you're part of the problem.

our sub gets pretty personal and our posts trend frequently, so i definitely don’t blame users if they want to keep their history from other users private. as a mod i can still see their live posts and comments regardless. it’s the deleted posts where we most often find inconsistencies or bot evidence, and those i can only access with arctic shift or rosint :/

If you're worried about harassment, make an alt. There is no legitimate reason to hide your profile on a platform that has allowed unlimited alts since time immemorial.

Even if you can't get Pushshift access, you can (and should) make a rule that if your profile is hidden you are immediately banned from the subreddit.

Opt out only if the sub mods have something set up to notify users. Subs that don't relay the info that their stuff has been auto removed suck and mods deserve the modmail back.

It's absolutely bonkers that things can be auto removed cause the user used 1 wrong word and not let the users know why so if they happen to figure out their post was auto removed, they have to play stupid games to fellatio the post to figure out what the naughty word we can't use is.

And for mods of those subs to approve their own content that would otherwise get caught in the auto removal should be mod abuse.

IMO, with app based usage increasing to a large portion and the apps being difficult to get in to see the complete set of rules, that’s the problem. It’s super easy to find the rules to a sub in web and old Reddit. In the app it’s 2-3 obscure clicks and isn’t formatted well.

Hi Annie. 🐱

Can we also work on bridging the tool differences between the desktop and mobile applications? 🥹

exactly. all hidden profiles do is make everything more inconvenient, while offering zero actual privacy

I can't even find the rules for my own sub in the app without blindly poking at the top inch of my phone.
