Ive been making a morrissey archive for a pretty long time (all on the internet archive, including the no longer on streaming platforms swords compilation and world peace is none of your business) and my cassette player finally arrived so ive made cassette rips of both Southpaw Grammar and Vauxhall and I, for fans of louche soundscapes! The Vauxhall cassette is pretty old so there are some dips in volume but other than that theyre fine audio. Plus the southpaw cassette has been sealed in its original packaging since 1995 and i was the first to ever open it! That was a great pleasure.

(Theyre all in high quality lossless formats, if you folks want i can convert them to MP3 files if you dont want to sacrifice much space. even if the internet archive has lossy derivatives that you can just download instead of the FLACs they have pretty crappy metadata. Though some of my rips were deleted so if anybody wants i can share them in private.)

This is what I think could’ve came out instead of swords where it compiles the singles and bsides of the 2000s and makes a compilation with them, something similar to what he did in the 80s.

The name “Boma Gemma” translates to “Good Jewellery” which I think suits Morrissey at this point of his life with songs like MLIASOPSG.

Sue me for saying this. As much as I am a fan of Morrissey and Smith’s music, I feel like Richard Hawley is a better Morrissey if that makes any sense. Richard , like Morrissey has a lot of melancholy vibe songs often times about feeling lost, isolated and unloved. Unlike Morrissey Richard handles both words and music. Plus he just seems like a cool bloke who would sit down and have a pint and a good conversation with just about anyone.

It’s just that I honestly feel like from World Peace through to the latest album there has been a dip in quality when it comes to Morrissey’s music.

Can someone explain to me why this has happened?
