Kratom has its dangers and risk of addiction in its powdered form, but it's nothing in comparison to what the concentrated version in 7oh became. That shit is the real devil. It's like comparing the dangers of a Tylenol 3 to unregulated fentanyl

Isn't 7oh a Kratom derivative? I've seen people online talk about how awful 7oh withdrawl is.

It's an alkaloid and is actually what gives kratom users relief from withdrawal to begin with. They sold concentrated amounts of it in tablets and that is what I used to get off opiates. I dose 3 15 MG doses a day. I have 3 grams of sr17018 that I'm going to use to get off the 7. Then I'll be clean. Withdrawal from 7 doesn't touch heroin or fent or even oxy, unless dosing ridiculous amounts and not tapering. People are horribly uneducated. Once I get off opiates, I plan to stop smoking hard, and I'll be free

I just want to say good luck. It’s good to have a plan.

Best of luck friend. Getting off opiates was the best decision I've ever made.

Opiate addiction is easy af to break try doing dabs for 15 years 24/7 and quitting that. 😭😭😭😭

I’ve been tapering for a couple months a few weeks per stage down to 15mg 4-5x a day. Much better than when I went cold turkey off 7-10 30mg oxy a day lol

I've seen tons of people say that quitting 7 is just as rough as any of those, and most people who use it regularly escalate to ridiculous amounts fairly quickly. You waited until the last possible moment when it became illegal forced you to quit, have not yet actually quit, and are pontificating on the subject.

They didn't taper down, and ya it's much safer to stay on this. I won't relapse, other opiates don't give you the same high while you're on 7. And I don't get high from it anymore. Id rather be on this than a substance that is likely to kill me one day

I just got out of rehab for 105 days. Lots of people on Kratom and 7OH.

They literally have nothing to treat it. People were just shaking and sweating non-stop.

I was just faking an alcohol and weed problem so I could take some time to find a new job.

u/3riversfantasy [MIL] Thon Maker Aug 08 '26

Bro you went to rehab for 3.5 months as a goof!?

u/cindad83 Pistons Aug 08 '26

Yea...job was laying people off they brought in 30 contractors from India. It was a bloodbath in the job market.

I said I had a drug problem and took 70% of my pay. Been doing interviews every week basically.

Worked out, slept a ton. Met with a therapist twice a week. Ate freaking healthy. Got a solid bedtime routine.

Have pending offer this week. Or I go back to my old job. Im owed 2.5 months sick snd vacation if they fire me anyway. Im paid until the end if the year.

Yea and I haven't drank in 110 days. So it was a win all the way around. My wife and kids came to where I was staying for 3 weeks. We went to the zoo, art galleries, and whatever. I just had to be back at the facility by 1030PM.

If I knew it was going to be so chill, I would have told one of my buddies to go with me.

We did sone fun stuff too like rehab we went to the beach, universal studios, we went sight seeing.

Now some people were going threw it on the withdrawals. You only need 4 drinks a week to qualify for alcohol use disorder, lol.

LOL. I don’t even know what to say to this. Crazy

It was funny until he said he had a wife and kids

1

u/cindad83 Pistons Aug 08 '26

Except I received 70% of my pay and 4 extra months of employment.

We now have had 4 months of planning to prepare for a job loss vs being shown the door overnight.

Ever thought my wife was in on the plan??

You're the reason health insurance is unaffordable...thanks for being part of the problem

1

u/cindad83 Pistons Aug 08 '26

I've paid into the system for 25 years...first time I've ever been overnight in a facility.

u/Any_Possible3003 Aug 08 '26

Health insurance doesn’t cover drug rehabilitation.

All the people that use the ER as their doctor and never pay a dime are the problem.

1

u/cindad83 Pistons Aug 08 '26

Yes it does. Its a disease. Any treatment has a co-pay.

u/Any_Possible3003 Aug 09 '26

You are correct, I stand corrected.

One of the main active ingredients in kratom is Mitragynine, with super small trace amounts of 7oh as well as various other alkaloids. Whenever you ingest kratom the Mitragynine in your body metabolizes into 7oh which produces some of the opiate-like effects. Over the last couple of years people have found a way to take pure extracted Mitragynine and synthesize it into 7oh. This way you can have concentrated effects of kratom without worrying about the typical ceiling effect that comes with kratom/Mitragynine which causes nausea and nystagmus.

Yep. People have misused this potentially groundbreaking substance. Shit could make waves in the pharmaceutical industry.

It should have never been sold retail. It could change the way we look at pain treatment and opioid recovery. SR too.

Give me some more information or sources on tapering down from 7 over a few weeks

1

u/dewey_humboldt Aug 08 '26 edited Aug 08 '26

Just keep gradually lowering the dose by 25-50% every couple of days over the course of a few weeks. For example, if you take 100mg on Monday, you could reduce to 75mg on Tuesday and Wednesday, then 50mg on Thursday and Friday, and continue tapering from there. I found this approach to be pretty painless.

There's also SR17that can help people get off crazy high doses, but of course they're banning that too.

Check out r/7_hydroxymitragynine and read some of the discussions about tapering.

2

u/horsethebandthemovie Aug 08 '26

Ah, I was more curious about whether something in particular about 7 made tapering easier. Thanks though!

2

u/dewey_humboldt Aug 08 '26

7oh is a partial opioid agonist, so it doesn’t stimulate the opioid receptors as strongly as a full agonist like traditional opioids do. It has a short half life as well and seems to clear from the body relatively quickly, so there’s less of that long lasting buildup.

My guess is that combination makes it easier to make quick reductions without feeling like you’re jumping off a cliff. That’s just my understanding though. There isn't much research on tapering.

1

u/Any_Possible3003 Aug 08 '26

Idk man, it’s hard to even taper off regular kratom with no withdrawal.

I won’t ever try 7OH though because I’ve had a lot of patients come into the ER in withdrawal.

2

u/Holl0wayTape Aug 08 '26

There is a minuscule amount of 7OH in kratom. Companies are extracting huge amounts from 7OH from a metric ton of kratom to make isolated 7OH products. They’re two completely different beasts

It's wildly addictive, brutal to quit, and the fact that it was sold in gas stations lured countless people who wouldn't otherwise tough a substance like that. The fact that it took so long was regulators asleep at the switch. I'm just asking about 7oh btw, not plain kratom. Extracts I think should be banned too though.

9

u/B4llDontLie Pistons Aug 08 '26

So fucking glad I quit before 7oh became commonplace. Though opiod and kratom addiction stole much of my 20s and 30s, I count my blessings that I got off oxy before it was all fent and kratom before 7oh took over.

Tylenol 3? wym

49

u/No_Fairweathers 76ers Aug 07 '26

Tylenol 3 is a weak opiate. Tylenol + 30mg of codeine.

14

u/overseas4now Aug 07 '26

Probably Tylenol with codeine.

3

u/whatisthepointofi Aug 08 '26

Unregulated fentanyl? Wow some of you guys are seriously misinformed. There’s literally no deaths of 7oh alone it’s always because some other substance. Then they try to imply it was 7oh when there’s never any deaths from someone taking 7oh alone. It’s literally impossible to overdose not sure how it’s like Fent.

2

u/Novel_Buy_9032 Aug 07 '26 edited Aug 07 '26

This is a joke man. Kratom isn't strong enough to stop withdrawals from fent, 7oh barely is. With 7oh, you eventually lose the high entirely with consistent use, so you're actually able to live a normal life. It's a life changing drug that has been demonized because of the lobbying of AKA, a kratom association. If 7oh was only sold online and shitty headshop owners didn't take advantage of unsuspecting people, you'd never heard of it, and I wouldn't have to worry about withdrawal. They even banned sr17018, a drug that removes withdrawal symptoms to allow users to taper off opiates entirely within a couple weeks. It sounds like a miracle drug because it is. And I bet no one has told you that you can drop your 7oh dose by half every other day down to 15mg.
