I’ve been fooled by bag appeal and swayed by social media.
I’m not criticizing or praising particular cultivators in this post, but here are some thoughts…
- Bag appeal gains traction on social media…I understand why…causing certain brands to become more visible. Seemingly more popular. Odds are a portion of the upvotes are “that looks good” as opposed to “I’ve also tried that and like it too.”
- With that in mind…mylar bags are not inherently worse than jars. In fact, most dry flower I’ve had was from jars that did not have double seals. Mylar bags squish flower, but that isn’t really a big deal. Plus, most bags fit a Boveda pack while you can it one in a jar.
- Not all organic no till living soil is equal. One brand, I do not enjoy something about how all of their flower burns. Another looks awesome but has average effects. Another looks okay but has amazing effects. Don’t fall for marketing, try things yourself.
- Additionally, not all white label MSO flower is trash. And, surprisingly, different MSO brands grown under the same license can have a range in quality. Again, try things for yourself.
- Finally…fuck blind brand loyalty. I’ve been burned countless times when I see a strain I loved reappear on the market, I jump on two or three jars…and the batch is nowhere near the last one. Keep these companies on their toes, buy multiple brands, don’t get complacent. It’s probably better for your high/tolerance as well.
(End of rant)
