Overall how was homecoming this year?
Was it fun, or was it garbage. How was the events and how was the food, and how was everything about homecoming in general this year?

I’m going to stay in engineering, but I haven’t been enjoying some classes recently. Maybe it’s just some of the things that NJIT does that I’m not a fan of like the common exams. Though, I get exams would vary if professors made each of their own exams. Though I know in the summer professors do make their own exams. I know it’s a grind and you can’t just wing it in engineering. Grades matter and hard work is necessary. What keeps you guys pushing through? I chose engineering since it did align with my interests. Regardless of wherever you decide to go for engineering, the major will be difficult. It's especially difficult when imposter syndrome comes around and you start comparing yourself to how others did. But honestly, I don't find myself switching out of this school. I just have to just get through it. But some classes and professors in the past have wavered my decision. I know some classes it's just hard; you're going to have to get through it, and poor professors are inevitable.
So, my question is, what makes you guys stay in engineering?

The second exam coming up honestly I don't even know how to study for this one after the first one didn't really rely much on the textbook but still ended up w a 70. If anyone remembers does the coordinator use all the chapters material definitions or is it only to what the slides go up to? Not really trying to use the quizlets.
gonna try to study using the textbook this time

I wanna ask if my friend can stay with me in the dorm for the whole winter break. I know she can stay up to 2 days but is it possible to extend the length of stay?

Hello!
I am currently a junior how time flies! I am not studying a science or a major related to medicine, but I am considering an ABSN program or PA school due to my growing passion for the medical field. I would need to complete the prerequisites here or at a community college after I graduate. Do any nursing or PA students have advice on what the prerequisites are like? Math is not my strongest suit, and I have not taken a science course since my freshman year or a chemistry course since high school any advice would be appreciated.
Thank you!

Hey everyone,
I’m an undergrad Data Science major (graduating Fall 2027) and I’ve applied to 20+ Data Science and ML internships recently. Every single one has come back as a rejection email within 3 days of applying.
I already have a previous data science internship (Python, SQL, R), math tutoring experience, a hackathon award, and ML projects on my resume, so getting rejected that fast every time doesn't make sense to me.
Why am I getting rejected within 72 hours, and what should I do next? Should I tweak my resume and re-apply to the same roles, or take a completely different approach?

Hey everyone! I am taking part in a design competition with one of my teammates, and I am collecting research about NJIT students and socializing. If you could fill out this survey, it would be super helpful for us! It should only take about 5 minutes. Here is the link: https://forms.gle/cZVKD61f8TuBQynZ9 Every response helps us a lot. Message me if you have any questions, and feel free to share the survey with anyone else you know :)

I’m currently a freshman doing an IT major at NJIT, but I’ve been seriously thinking about switching to a business major. The main reason is that I’m not really liking the direction the tech industry is going with AI. I know AI probably isn’t going to completely replace every tech job, but I’m worried about what the job market could look like by the time I graduate. I’d rather play it safe and study something that fits what I actually want to do.
I’ve also realized that I was never really passionate about IT or coding in the first place. A big reason I chose IT was because I heard about the salaries and job opportunities. The more classes I take, the more I realize I don’t want to force myself through a degree just because I think it might make good money.
I’m much more interested in business, entrepreneurship, freelancing, marketing, and eventually making money working for myself. I also like the idea of using AI as a tool for business instead of trying to compete against it for a traditional tech job.
Has anyone here switched from IT/CS to a business major at NJIT? Do you regret it, or was it a good decision? And which business major would you recommend for someone interested in entrepreneurship and working for themselves?

Within about a month and a half into the semester, I'm a bit worried about Calc 2. I didn’t do the best on the first exam. I got around a 50. Now, we have our exam on Integration (Basic rules, u-sub, Trig sub, Trig Integrals), Partial Fractions, Numerical Integration), and LCT/DCT. All the topics here is what's going to be on the exam. They expect for students to memorize a lot from here too. Though, they did the same with Calc 1 but that was easier. I have to get at least a 69 or higher to be eligible to pass Calc 2 with the bare minimum of a C.
For the first exam, the average in my class was a 63 which my professor wasn't satisfied with.

I will be studying this weekend. At least 2-3 exams. Wanna study as much as possible and actually understand the material. I haven't even done the greatest on quizzes recently, so it's like exams are my best bet to get my grade up. My professor did comment on how the class hasn't been doing well on the quizzes. I'm not sure if she was joking around or not, she was warning us that we just won't have quizzes if that's the case.
I've been using Organic Chem Tutor since others have shared how it's helped them best. I initially used JKMath with the first exam. The stuff with area, shell method, washer method, and disk method really did confuse me and I think that's why I didn't do the greatest on exam 1 for Calc 2. Dropping the class isn't really an option for me here. I just really have to push through this class. I'll be happy getting a C in this class.
If anyone has suggestions, please let me know.
I really pray that I do well in Calc 2. It feels like this class is going to be the death of me.
I'll be much happier once I'm out of college.

Curious on how people are feeling about the second exam? I’m kinda iffy with maybe 2-3 sections but am feeling okay-ish overall.
r/NJTech • u/joker_is_mad8765 • 2d ago
the class is structural analysis and the exam had 2 problems. the class average between the 2 problems is about 29%. problem 1 was worth 40 points and the average for it was about 23/40 (problem was reasonable imo) and the second problem was worth 60 points and had an average of 6.6/60 and a high of 16/60. highest grade was barely above a 50. the prof blamed us for failure and thought the time given + the problems given were reasonable. what yall think lol?

We are NJIT engineering students developing a wearable glove that helps people learn basic American Sign Language (ASL) through interactive practice and visual feedback. We would appreciate your feedback to help determine whether this product would be useful.
I created a google forms with questions regarding our survey. Thank you!

Hi, I’m a Freshman who’s doing Biochem right now.
Recently I have realized that I can count on my fingers the number of people that I know who does Biochem (2 fingers to be exact).
I think personally think I know a lot of people (did EOP and met a lot of other freshman).
Coming back to my original question, is there something wrong with the major or job prospects?
I keep seeing BME or Chemical engineering.
Please any clarification would help.

Hi, Alumni here,
I hope posting here can give me some insight into my current problem. I recently found out that NJIT has terminated access to the email account for alumni and instead implemented an outbound-only forwarding system for any incoming mail. Unfortunately for me, I designated my NJIT email address as the recovery email for my personal Google account. I lost access to my Google account as my phone broke and this is the device where I stored all my passwords (bad idea). I am currently locked out of my Google account because not only had I had to update the forwarding email address to a new Google account, but I also do not receive test emails from another email address or activation codes from Google via the new forwarding email. Either the NJIT system is still rerouting or I’m never going to be able to recover my Google account. Any tips or advice as to what’s going on? I’ve spoken with IT but I’d like to hear a second opinion.
Thanks

I genuinely have no idea what is going on, and her lectures were all trainwrecks.
First class I think I'm ever going to withdrawal from.
Itani CS 350 is far better than this.

Lowkey, I get yall might have friends in other sections, I have no issues with yall using my chair to sit. But when yall start putting your feet on my stuff I have an issue 😭.
Idk what it is about the kids this year but they have 0 respect. Why do I come back to studio after the weekend and find my chair out of place with a fat foot print on it, like the school didn’t provide that, I bought it with my own money and to top it off, it’s a white chair.
It’s already one thing to have to hear everyone talk about their penis size and their trauma stories, but it’s another thing for other sections to comfortably take over other peoples desk and use their stuff AND completely disrespect someone else’s space.
I can’t even approach the person because I have 0 idea who it could be. But if it happens again, I’ll talk to the people behind me and ask them to please stop 😭
(Also non studio related, please learn to park, I’ve had to climb over seats to get to the driver seat too many times this semester)
TL;DR: please don’t put your feet on my personal belongings.
