Urgent GREENPOINT NEIGHBORS SPENT YEARS SOUNDING THE ALARM ABOUT HOUSE OF HORRORS ON MCGUINNESS BOULEVARD

https://greenpointers.com/2026/02/09/greenpoint-neighbors-spent-years-sounding-the-alarm-about-house-of-horrors-on-mcguinness-boulevard/

Police arrested the illegal occupant of 151 McGuinness Blvd. on January 17 for assault and animal cruelty. He now faces over 50 criminal charges — including animal abuse and felony assault — but was released just two days later and continues to live in the building.

In addition to these charges, he is also the subject of a separate rape and assault case filed in December 2025.

A new Greenpointers exposé documents the full extent of his behavior and the years-long inaction that allowed this to continue. Highlights from the article and community testimony include:

• Six years of squatting and severe building decay

• Repeated harassment of women — including a 10-year-old girl, who called her father in tears after being approached by him in November 2025

• Unregulated rave parties, drug activity, and alleged assaults

• A dead body removed from the property in 2023 — and to this day, no confirmed cause of death

• Dog hoarding and visible abuse — 23 dogs and puppies rescued in January by the ASPCA

Please see the attached article.

Our neighborhood coalition, McGuinness Dogs, has been working tirelessly to protect the community — but this individual remains in the building and continues to pose a serious threat to public safety.

If you live in Greenpoint, please read and share the article. Stay informed, stay safe, and help us demand accountability.

There needs to be an investigation into everyone who handled the complaints.

It’s the legal system that’s grinded to a halt and incessantly slow. The people handling the complaints are actually following it by the book, which is slow as hell because judges, prosecutors, and defense lawyers can all ask for delays, delays, delays.

You ever wonder why it takes anywhere from 2-5 years after a murder to sentence a murderer, only for them to appeal it and drag the whole thing out again? Killed in 2019, sentenced in 2024.

You can be arrested 50 times before your first actual court hearing for the first arrest. It takes months and that’s if the DA actually tries to prosecute (I got shoved on my ass in Brooklyn last April and cops didn’t even want to file a report because I wasn’t mortally injured).

It’s nigh on impossible to deal with bad people in the city. They can abuse 30+ dogs, host raves, squat for years, proudly brag about raping incapacitated people, sexually harass multiple people including minors and still face no consequences. It’s just total anarchy and anything goes attitude for the handful of shitheads who do this and just years of torture for the thousands of normal working class people living next to these wackos.

And only the NYC housing court system would let him claim squatters rights for almost 6 years ! 🤦🏻‍♀️

Former NYCHA resident here.

It’s even worse in low income housing because the government lets it happen under their direct watch.

An asshole can piss in the elevator, tie his own shit to random neighbor’s door, sexually harass neighbors, play porn on speakers out an open window, and it takes forever to get rid of him.

Maybe we should enforce the law? Progressives don’t like to hear it, but some people need to be in jail.

We need a top down restaffing of this city’s criminal justice system including new DAs and new judges. We get what we vote for.

not sure why you’re blaming progressives when republicans are the ones not enforcing the law on a national level. check out the epstein situation if you’re unaware.

You’d also need to reform at the state level, while also putting Republicans in power for decades because Democrats would never let agree to punishing crime fairly.

It’s always some excuse to mitigate the crime.

Kind of hard for me to take Republicans seriously on crime after what the world is witnessing from the Trump administration at a federal level. Especially the industrial levels of fraud and the continued cover up of Epstein by the Trump DOJ.

ny has always been a blue state, if you haven’t realized that i’m sorry for you. just move!

Why was he released?

People are innocent until proven guilty. When judges (and prosecutors) in NY assess defendants to determine whether they need to be held in pre-trial custody, there is a presumption of release for most misdemeanors and non-violent felonies.

The primary considerations at this stage of a case are whether the defendant poses a flight risk (i.e. won't show up to court) and to a lesser extent the safety of the community (in light of the potential for additional offenses).

I can't speak to this exact case's circumstances, but that presumption likely wasn't overcome here, hence the release pending further proceedings

A reasonable response to what was likely a rhetorical question. Nice!

Dont understand the downvotes. This is technically the correct answer. Judges followed the laws/rules set by local elected officials

u/ninjazee_124 Feb 11 '26

Crazy they ignored the neighbor reports

3

u/CantEvictPDFTenants Flushing Feb 11 '26

They do this all the time because constant lawsuits do impact procedures. The process in 2026 is basically like this:

  1. Cops get called to break up the problem and keep the peace.

  2. As long as you don’t do a big crime in front of them while they’re there, they don’t bother and can’t arrest folks.

  3. They only make a report if the caller remains at the location and insists on the filing it, but it’s often just Harassment or Assault 3, which are misdemeanors and those don’t go anywhere.

  4. Once they’re gone, the offender goes right back to being a menace.

u/sameagaron Feb 11 '26

Where are they keeping the dogs ? Are they up for adoption ?

2

u/stfuidcwytam Feb 11 '26

I think they’re still with the ASPCA. They’ll likely be adoptable soon

1

2

12

u/KaiDaiz Feb 11 '26

Hmm, all those harder to evict terrible tenants laws that folks keep voting for

2

u/veedey Feb 13 '26

If you see or hear something, RECORD IT. This is all evidence that can help put away a threat to our neighborhood for good

1

u/stfuidcwytam Feb 15 '26

Absolutely! And please report anything you see!

The best we can do is send a social worker.

16

u/isetmyfriendsonfire Feb 11 '26

How much worse can it be than the people that already let this go on for six years?

Second, that we know of

10

u/paisleycatperson Feb 11 '26

Well cops didn't do anything at all so.

3

u/fiya4u Feb 11 '26

Obviously better then what the police aren’t doing

1

u/CantEvictPDFTenants Flushing Feb 11 '26

Here’s how it’s going to go:

They send in a social worker who gets brutally assaulted, then they send another who also gets assaulted, and then all social workers quit because they realize they’re lambs being sent to their slaughter.

And it only gets worse if you’re a female social worker getting sent to a male sexual predator like the guy in the newsletter.

At some point, you’ll run out of naive social workers and the trauma will wake up a lot of folks to reality that there are many psychopaths that thrive off of the toxic and suicidal empathy of activists who think they know better.
