Blackwater Park How would you guys rank opeth's discography
here's how i would rank mine
btw i like all the albums on opeth, i like atleast 1 song from each album, unlike some other progressive or death metal bands, like dream theater, behemoth or tool. anyways here's my rankings
My Fav Albums:
note: these keep shifting ngl soo this is based on my current mood
- Pale Communion- Dont get me wrong, this album has some good songs, i really enjoy goblin, elysian woes, and moon above, sun below and eternal rains will come, otherwise i find the other tracks pretty mid and not enjoyable
- Orchids- I like under the weeping moon, and in the mist she was standing otherwise i dislike all the other tracks, im not a fan of way too heavy songs, but yea i like these a lot aswell
- Morningrise- Oh, to bid you farewell and black rose immortal are such beautiful songs, otherwise not such a big fan of this album
- my arms, your hears (pls dont kill me for this)- i only like demon of the fall and credence otherwise not a big fan of this album
note: from number 10 onwards its so hard to pick cuz i love each and every one of these albums - ok this one is pretty difficult- Sorceress- dont get me wrong (once again), i love this album a lot specically sorceress (self titled track and basically the entire album)
- Heritage- i love martin axenrot's drumming on haxprocess and the devil's orchard i could listen to this album in repeat thats how good it is
- Damnation- love the clean era, hope leaves and windowpane, and to rid the diesease i enjoy it, but other than that i find the other tracks boring
- Watershed- I love lotus eater, burden, hessian peel basically the entire album, but i cant rank this above ghost reveries
- The Last will and testament- walterri's drumming brought back life in to opeth §1 immediately announces the densest and epicness of this album and Mikeal;s Growls OH MY GOD so good
my top 5 - ghost reveries- harlequin forest, grand conjuration, and ghost of perdition are such good tracks
4.still life- the album i got introduced to, a special place in my heart, the moor, godhead's lament and all the other tracks such amazing tracks - in cauda vaneum- love the idea of both swedish and english
deliverance- absouletley love this freaking album, insanely good songs
blackwater park- nothing beats this album
note: sorry i got kinda lazy by number-1, and sorry for the long ahh message.

My Arms, Your Hearse Are the lyrics to "when" completely accurate?
If you listen to the very end of the song, multiple lyrics pages all have;
"When is the new beginning,
the end of this sad MADRIGAL."
I cannot for the life of me hear that last line, and I'm trying. It sounds like he's saying;
"and the answer call"
or
"and the upset call"
Thoughts? Are these the correct lyrics or a mis-hear that got used on every lyric page? Can you hear the last line? quick timestamp

Still Life Still Life artwork
Hey guys! I've been looking for other pieces of artwork which are the background of the Still Life booklet pages expanded, but could only find these ones. Maybe they are the only ones available, but I really wanted to find it if not.
I might sound picky, but am also searching for this one from Face of Melinda but without the band's logo and didn't want to (and won't) use AI to remove it. Same goes for a better quality Serenety Painted Death one.
Does anybody have something that could share?

In Cauda Venenum Kontinuerlig Drift is notably better than Continuum
Neither English nor Swedish are my native languages, but I speak English and not Swedish, so until now I had only listened to "In Cauda Venenum" in English, and it's one of my favorite Opeth albums, maybe my absolute favorite. However, I listened to the Swedish version, and some of the songs have more feeling in Swedish, especially the ending of "Continuum". Those last 2 minutes are one of Opeth's best moments, absolutely beautiful, but in the Swedish version, there are more backing vocals and he sings even better. If you haven't heard both versions yet, I recommend comparing them, to me, it's quite clear that "Kontinuerlig Drift" sounds better. This also happens with other songs on the album, but this one stood out the most for me.

I knew they were growers
I knew that the 4 prog rock albums were growers but I didn’t expect so many to be in my top songs, Heritage and Sorceress have some silent bangers. I’ve come to appreciate the quiet moments in their songs a lot more
Obviously the heavy stuff is still fucking awesome but is it wrong for BWP, Deliverance, The Moor, GoP to be so low? I don’t even have Bleak in my top 16

General / Discussion From Another Planet?
Hey guys, how are you??
I've recently read that opeth released a "special edition bonus dvd" of watershed, with 5 songs:
1 - Prologue
2 - From another planet
3 - The lotus eater
4 - The junkmail studios
5 - Epilogue
I've tried searching all over music platforms but I could find any of those unique songs (asides from lotus eater ofc). Does anyone knows wtf are these songs?? I'm curious as hell to listen to it.
Thank you so much!!
