I'd be more annoyed at the guy holding up a phone that close to the stage than about them not doing crowd control. Like the people that close to the stage worked hard to get those spots, and security is blocking their view in the most prime of real estate by holding up a shitty recording.

I’ve seen a lot of young Gen Z security working events recently who have been busy recording the show and not paying attention. Super frustrating to see.

Yeah. Idk this guy or anything about him, but security were 100% outta line. Their job is to manage the crowd.

Went to a gig a few weeks back, fairly heavy metal band with really passionate fans. The venue had six or seven security stationed right in front of the stage to safely catch crowd surfers and get them down and back out the side of the front of the stage. The gig was awesome but I was on the barrier and it was reassuring to see how on top of it they were. They scanned the horizon to the front constantly and as soon as they spotted a surfer signalled to each other and moved to the front to receive them. Was super well ran.

I’d have been pretty appalled to see someone whose job is to keep people safe being more focused on recording the show. That’s not your job!

Yep. If I was in his position, I would be pissed. I wouldn't take/throw the phone, but I would motion to operations to have that guy removed/fired ASAP. It's absolutely unacceptable from a working member of the crew.

I agree. I think this is one of those things where people’s reactions would vary widely depending on the celebrity doing it. People already hate this guy (who I’ve never heard of but just did some googling, sounds like he deserves it) so they hate that he did this. But if it were a celebrity everyone loves people would probably think it was badass.

So you are telling me she is capable of securing a crowd?
