Changing a winning team was insane. If you are changing it, you don't keep Naderi then move him to a position he's useless in.
You don't take of our 2 best players in the 2nd half when the game isn't done.
You don't keep on Naderi and Gassama the whole fucking game either.
Last night was a disaster for Del.

Overreacting on here and Twitter is mental and I assume it’s because everyone is on the piss due to the kick off time.
Should have won, but it’s October.
Neil is back to being a concern for me though.

The guy has been our best midfielder and commanding most games and was excellent in the old firm. He almost equalized here. One mistake does not make a concern. Jesus.

I hope I'm wrong of course but I just see too many similarities to the last few seasons, where we struggle to dominate weaker teams and control games. I think the squad is improved though and we have better players capable of more, just have never been convinced about how we play, other than against celtic.
That's my opinion based on what I've seen win year after year, including when we were at a good level with Gerrards squad. The only thing that will really change that is if we go on to win things playing the way we do, giving up larger spells of possession and allowing teams to create more home and away.
That doesn't mean calling for heads, there's still a lot of football to be played but I think we really need to improve that aspect or we will fall short in the long run.

Changing a winning team was mental. Also very obvious to anyone with a functioning set of eyes that Naderi isn't a lone striker.
Also worth noting we shouldn't shit the bed over this result either, frustrating as it is.

Outside of the worldy goals & the start of the 2nd half, it was very poor. Smacks of Del overthinking it again.

Very disappointing hopefully Celtic get gubbed Sunday ,Elvis has built a not too bad team with limited resources

u/Father-Spodo-Komodo 2d ago
They will batter hearts.
2
u/WayComprehensive9220 1d ago
Even if they don't, there's ever possibility they get a made up penalty to help them out.

u/Consistent_Fly1131 2d ago
I've said it a lot but we need to be much better at retaining possession, took until the 2nd half to get a grip of the game but then ruined it with the howler. Too many times we are giving these teams long spells of creating and have been lucky it hasn't hurt us a few times.
Against the weaker sides, I think we should be a team that dominates the ball and wants to create, like we saw for a spell at the start of the 2nd half, up until the howler.

u/BigBananaBerries Tuur Rommens 2d ago
The amount of chances we give up is unreal. More clinical finishers would be scudding us.

Dan Neil, Emmanuel Fernandez and Djedi Gassama can all get fucked. Disgraceful performance from all three

u/Big_Hitter45 2d ago
Dan Neil is living off his goals against Celtic, he's done little else all season.
19
u/nozzle83 2d ago
Think that’s harsh. The team won 8 domestic games on the bounce. He made a mistake that cost us today but we move on. First few games aside, he’s been very good.
-1
u/Big_Hitter45 2d ago
Is it? Yes 8 wins, but we can hardly say they were all convincing, last week's result against Killie was pretty flattering. I don't even think he was totally to blame for the goal tonight, he should never have been given the ball in that position, but as captain he shouldn't be allowing this constant dicking about at the back which constantly brings unneeded pressure.
1
u/nozzle83 1d ago
That was the tactic. McInnes suggested as much himself. Invite the press to then try to go 1v1 with wingers and Min Su.
The problem was we weren’t good enough first half then made a stupid mistake that cost us second half. Dundee were good because they were energetic and won the 1v1 battles, but they didn’t cut open with football or create particularly clear chances.
Anyway, in my opinion Neil is a good player early in his career with us. Bad start but doing well now. Should be a starter for us and certainly shouldn’t be singled out.

u/Royal_Hospital_1550 2d ago
I thought this was odd, too. Both were quite penetrative and could have made a difference towards the end. Anyway…

u/Kanesy99 Tochi Chukwuani 2d ago
No idea why we're bringing off both Kim-min Su and Bouanani when we're searching for a goal and they are both playing out of their skin, should have left at least one of them on as they were by far the best two players on the park. Shite to drop points given that it purely comes from player mistakes, need to bounce back next week.
1
u/BigBananaBerries Tuur Rommens 2d ago
The only things I can think is that Kim's regularly blowing out his arse near the end of games & is Bouanani properly fit? Either way, he came onto a game but wasn't great early on. You're right though, I'd have kept them on & subbed Gassame.
13
u/BrandonBarkerLoyal 2d ago
Kim’s movement is such a major help to free up space. Bouanani was a threat everytime he had the ball. Think some of the reaction is ott scar tissue from previous seasons which is understandable.
3
u/BrandonBarkerLoyal 2d ago edited 2d ago
First half very poor. Second half much improved from the start. Led by Kim and Bounani. Subs were baffling. Typical silly error which costs us and lets them off the hook going into tomorrow. I just don’t see it with Gassama final ball consistently horrific. 3 goals in 48 league appearances. Thought midfield in general struggled tonight especially first half a lot of errant passing.

Weekend ruined

u/vzxqiram 1d ago
yeah that’s the kind of draw that feels like a loss for both sides tbh. proper weekend killer for anyone invested in either club

u/Alone-Discussion5952 Barry’s Staunch Truck 2d ago
Changed a winning team and had to chase the game. Lack of concentration, poor defending and individual errors made this game an uphill battle. Not to mention poor substitutions.
2 wonder goals and still we are left disappointed.

u/Effective_Serve_7978 2d ago
People ignored the warning signs last week because Killie gifted us 3 goals but they were there.
McInnes still has no idea what he's doing at times. Be aggressive and control the game and you win but he still insists on being passive, letting shite teams control the ball and trying to catch them on the counter.
3
u/ha55ana1i 2d ago
Not having that, we battered killie and the game was won at halftime. If it was only 1/2 goals we’d have played a better second half.
Fucking sore to draw a game of course but we can’t let it get toxic like the start of the season again. Mistakes happen but there’s clearly improvement in this team. I agree that game 80% is on mcinnes and there’s a few players who need to have a hard look at themselves (Fernandez)

u/Every-Birthday6726 2d ago
Bad day at the office all round. Just feels like we don’t give away many chances but when we do they are often proper clear cut/glaring.
Gassama also needs some time out the team. Can be effective on his day but someone else deserves an opportunity. Curtis should be getting a run out on the left wing for a few games to show if he can offer anything else.

u/Agitated_Nature_5977 Barry’s Staunch Truck 2d ago
Going backwards all game. Wtf is Dan Neil doing cost us the 3 points ultimately
3
u/Missingno1990 El Búfalo :Cheeky-Alfredo: 2d ago
Hardly surprising. Turning up for 20 minutes a game was never going to work out week in week out.
2
u/HailstormXI 2d ago
Not ideal, stupid mistakes costing us the 3 points. We need to stop doing that across a season as it adds up eventually. Worst case, we go only 4 behind Celtic which is still doable to overcome, although I think Hearts will give them a game and it either ends a heart victory or a draw.
International break has killed the momentum, the squad need to reflect and improve on that game and try get that momentum back.
1
u/This-blew-up 2d ago
Those subs really cost us any chance to win it, I think changing the formation was a bad choice as Naderi isn’t good as a lone striker. Neil, Naderi, and Gassama were all atrocious but all stayed on the pitch.

Raskin was also really poor outside of the wonder goal.
2
u/eight_Ace_ 2d ago
Didn’t have the same discipline we’ve seen recently. Normally when he plays like he did tonight, we’re playing shite
3
u/HospitalDJ_94 2d ago edited 2d ago
Yeah was a tough watch; not the first time we've seen a poor pass from him lead to an error from the receiver and we concede either. Need him and Neil back on form next game.

u/theghostmutt 2d ago
All good beating the tims but if we can't win games like this then it's going to be very difficult to win the league

Improved after halftime but still nowhere near good enough.
Think Celtic being so poor has distracted from our defensive shape still being really poor. Every attack looks likely to create something. At no point did we look in control of that game either.
Pressley has done a great job up there. Really impressed by how they approached that.

u/atlblair 2d ago
Knew it was fucked as soon as Manny passed it backwards instead of forwards. What's the point of playing ourselves into pressure. Just get it forward ffs
1
u/darwinxp 2d ago
Yeah Del will be raging because that's not the tactic. Fernandez set the tone tonight by constantly giving it away at the start, unsettled the team
6
u/Scary-Zucchini-1750 Ryan Naderi 2d ago
Didn't play great, although much better second half.
Would have been harsh on Dundee if they came away with nothing, but we had enough chances to win. Obviously frustrating that we've gifted them the equaliser as well.
3
u/wallllacce 2d ago
First half reminded me of the start of the season, not strong enough and far too slow. Bit of magic to go in level and then I thought we came out really well got the goal and then we just throw it away through a lack of concentration. Game was there to be won and we’ve let that mob off the hook. Very frustrating.
3
u/Unfair-Challenge-216 Barry’s Staunch Truck 2d ago
McInnes should never have changed the system but his subs have consistently been baffling, Findlay Curtis should not be playing for Rangers in any capacity let alone coming on in favour of Bouanani who was looking so dangerous
0
u/Agitated_Nature_5977 Barry’s Staunch Truck 2d ago
Curtis's decision making is poor, you don't cut outside when there is a chance to drive into the box

u/GlasgowAnvil Super Ally 2d ago edited 2d ago
Those subs absolutely killed it for us.
How the fuck Gassama stayed on is a mystery
Don’t care if Neil’s the captain. Make a mistake like that and he should be whipped off too.
2
u/Background_Resort765 2d ago
Agreed! Taking off Bouanani instead of Gassama who was pish - don’t get it
6
u/BrandonBarkerLoyal 2d ago
Gassama is a poor player. Simple as that. You get something good one in every 10-15 games. Neil struggled all game.

First half was diabolical, should off been out of site at the start of the second, its points like this that come back to haunt us each year

u/BrandonBarkerLoyal 2d ago
this is the frustration. Second half was chance after chance to kill it off. And didn’t.

u/TenLag Barry’s Staunch Truck 2d ago
Didn’t deserve to win there. Second best all over the park.

u/eight_Ace_ 2d ago
Terrible first half and not taking our chances cost us tonight. Very poor performances from Gassama, and Neil especially given his recent form. Tonight was always going to be a potential banana skin, Pressley has them drilled, gutted not to take the 3 pts given both the finishes.

u/A_Ticklish_Midget 2d ago
Another McInnes disasterclass

u/A_Ticklish_Midget 2d ago
If you want to (rightly) praise him for the 2 old firms, you need to call it out when he gets it wrong.
In most of the big games this season, bar Celtic, he's got it wrong
2
u/Unfair-Challenge-216 Barry’s Staunch Truck 2d ago
He twice dominated Celtic expertly, pressing and dominating before inexplicably deciding to sit off passive against Dundee. I'll give the manager enormous credit but sometimes he makes decision like that which are just so baffling

Absolutely fucking pathetic. Gassama and Neil should've been taken off. Brain dead performance.
3
u/Bray_Fentos 2d ago
Gassama and Curtis a mile off the level required. That said we were ahead and in the ascendency until Neil fucked it. Typically Rangers of us.

u/sex__lover69 1d ago
It's typical of previous seasons, win the games that get us in a good position but as soon as we get there, we fuck it up and fall behind, then win a few, fuck it up and repeat the cycle
