❓General Question❓ Reddit is showing "recommended subs" in my Home feed, it wasn't doing that yesterday.

I have my reddit setup to only show communities that i follow, but for some reason it's back to the default option that show recommended subs in your home feed, and i can't find the option to disable it anymore, is this how it's going to be from now one? cuz if that's how reddit will be well i'm done, this is the last social midia that i use cuz i can chose what i see in my home.

Am i missing something, i can't find a way to make it be the way it was before.

Edit: I'm using the browser version, not the app.

Take a look at the top to see if it actually is home feed. I believe you’re probably looking at something called For You feed

Thank you. Mine somehow got swapped to "For you" in the past few days. Changed it back to "Following". All good now. Thanks!

Yep indeed, wish the "following" was the default, better than not having it at all i guess.

This is not the case for me today. I am on my home page.

Interestingly, the option to disable recommendations has disappeared from my settings.

It might be time to shelf Reddit again.

Yeah, my home feed is showing me >50% algo./rec. slop, and the "disable recommendations" button is gone from my settings as well. Defeats the ENTIRE point of Reddit and I'm personally gone until they change it.

Don't use the app, use it on Firefox mobile with ad blocks enabled (honestly the only way to browse internet with mobile)

Yeah, it did the same to me. The recommendations are quite literally everything I hate and hate to interact with whatsoever. I'd rather it be tailored for content I enjoy and specifically follow and have an interest in (you know, almost like the fucking subreddits I followed specifically with that in mind.)

The fact that its attempting to replace that with an algorithm to generate engagement (I.E. me clicking mute and ignore on every fucking subreddit that has absolutely nothing to do with my interests) is infuriating.

I carefully crafted all of my subs to be hobby/fun stuff. Half my Home Screen is rage bait nonsense and algo suggestions pretty far removed from my subs.

Reddit like everything else is run by a bunch of greedy hoes

Same. I was seeing recommended posts/subs again so I went in search of that setting to make sure its turned off but its gone. A google search brought me to this discussion.

Can i please get a option to go back to how it was?

The "Following" tab barelly has any posts compared to before, and the "For You" tab just spoiled me on the ending of a series that im watching but never interacted with the sub.

It is extremely detrimental to my experience to simply open reddit now, since the default page is "For you".

Hence why i stopped using it aside from googling stuff

It is not possible to switch it yourself. It will only go back if reddit removes you from the experiment

Is there a way to bookmark the follows page instead of the useless “for you” page that I never want to see ever?

*edit* There is! https://www.reddit.com/?feed=following

So there is no way to turn off that "for you" feed? Every year the app gets worse and worse...

I have the same issue on my home feed and there is no option to disable recommendations in my settings. Wtf is this lol

u/Davidoff_Smoker Jun 13 '26

The forced "love meeee (Bruce almighty)" was a reason for me to kill my facebook account. Hope this forcing is going to be cancelled in the next update. I seek my own subreddits to follow, please don't shovel it it down users throats. I would like to view my own homescreen, not the one Reddit wants. Something with, free will?

...this is the last social midia that i use cuz i can chose what i see in my home.

I was just saying this to myself a day or two ago. I don't mind the ads; just leave my bloody feed alone.
