Discussion Mikasa fall damage

Post image

I just realized something during the Battle of Heaven and Earth in AOT

How did Mikasa survive a 15-meter fall? Like, I know she's an Ackerman, but I didn't know they didn't have fall damage

Yeah ik humans can survive a 15-meter fall, but she should at least be injured, unless she's secretly a Viltrumite.

Discussion The face Erwin makes in this scene has always stuck out to me

Post image
• Upvotes

Verbally he is hyping up his comrades, but he knows that in just a few seconds he and the very comrades he’s leading to their deaths will be all but decimated, and he will never get to reach that cellar.

This is a face of true fear, guilt, and regret that’s been culminating this whole series and while it’s a very small detail in retrospect, I think it is very powerful visual storytelling

Discussion What do you think...

Post image

What do you think... why did he talk to Eren like that? How do you think Erwin would have developed as a character if he hadn't died in Shiganshina? But judging from what I can guess from his words, Erwin would definitely fight back against Marley (in my opinion, anyway).

As for other countries, I don't know what he would plan to do with them, maybe nothing at all, or who knows.

Call me Eren the way after running through every possible scenario and re-watching the finale so many times, I have decided fuck it, it was good.

Still believe some events in the final showdown were contrived and very much "for the plot" though.

Discussion Guys I think i messed up and robbed myself

• Upvotes

So i am not really a hardcore anime enjoyer or movies enjoyer like i don’t watch every next big thing which comes. I think the last movie i watched inside theater was Odyssey and before that maybe 6years ago - tbh very inconsistent. I have only watched animes which i can count on my single hand - DeathNote, FMA:B, SpritedAway that’s it i think

ANYWAYS

So my friends have been recommending to watch AOT for like 3years and i kept on disregarding with “too long” until 5days ago.

I think i completed AOT in 2 1/2 day. F‘ed up my sleep schedule but in hindsight

THIS WAS PEAK, like it has become the best show i have ever seen. I had to join different subs to see more information related to this series.

Now that i have completed it so fast i think i robbed myself of that joy which i would have gotten if i watched it in a slower pace but who cares - IT’s THAT GOOD

I think the only other time i felt this was while playing a game called Elden Ring which also had a magic like this

I am sad that there will be no more content since the show is over or no other anime which can top this. But i have started watching it’s Attack on junior high spinoff at a much slower pace

Discussion The one thing I like about "The Rumbling" is that it reflects Eren's mental state pretty well

Crazy how it took like 4 seasons to get a main character focused OP/ED , Mikasa , historia and fucking FALCO got a song to themselves before the fricking MC

But I love the Rumbling so much because it really does showcase Eren's mental state , we know he has been depressed since he saw future but he still keeps moving forward , as he told Armin he went crazy when he got all memories and the OP shows it pretty well (if we assume eren is singing) like he is pissed , sad and also is going crazy from everything , the full song even has a line where he says "I AM NOT WHO I USED TO BEEEE" and ofcourse "NOBODY KNOWS WHAT'S INSIDE OF ME"

He is feeling all the emotions at once and he still keeps a straight face and acts stoic for most.. The Rumbling is such a banger but it's also so genius lyrically , it perfectly encapsulates what eren is thinking and even the visuals of the OP are from his POV

I love this scream scene especially

Anime Attack on Titan season 3 part 2. This is from episode 4. The subtitle is kinda bad, and I don't really understand what Connie said and meant. He even laughed after shouting "YEAGAAA". I know it's Eren's family name but this just makes me the more confused.

Yes i know what will be said "there isnt actual time travel in aot" I know, im not saying eren was actually there in the physical world but hes there as foreshadowing for the audience. He has erens exact fit on and also is conveniently the only other person thats not in the background besides the main trio and looks way too ominous to be a random

Discussion Research paper involving anime as the topic

Hi guys! Recently, I was given the opportunity to conduct a research project on a topic of my choosing, and I decided to focus on controversial figures in anime.

I chose Eren Yeager as one of the characters for my research because I've seen many people argue in favor of what he did, while others argue that although his actions were wrong, the reasoning behind them was understandable. What makes this particularly interesting to me is how two people can watch the exact same story, understand the same character, and still come to completely different conclusions about whether their actions were justified.

This led me to a bigger question: Does understanding a character's experiences and motivations make us more willing to justify their actions, even when those actions are morally questionable?

That's essentially what my research aims to explore. I'm examining how emotional connections, perspective-taking, and personal interpretations influence the way anime viewers judge controversial characters.

I've created a short survey featuring characters such as Eren Yeager from Attack on Titan, along with Suguru Geto and Maki Zenin from Jujutsu Kaisen. I'm interested in hearing different perspectives, whether you agree with these characters, disagree with them, or fall somewhere in between.

The survey takes approximately 7–10 minutes, and participants must be at least 18 years old. You don't need to agree with any particular character to participate. I'm simply interested in understanding how different viewers interpret their decisions.

Survey link

I'd genuinely appreciate anyone willing to take a few minutes to participate. Every response helps me better understand how people interpret morality within fictional stories.

Thank you!

Humor/Meme That last scene from the movie, Last Attack is probably a throwback nod to the visual novel, Muv-Luv Alternative's ending Spoiler

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hajime Isayama, the Manga author or 'Yams' as we fans call him, was influenced by the visual novel Muv-Luv Alternative which he played for 30 hours straight to the end when it was first released on PC back in 2006 which he cited as the main inspiration for Attack On Titan along with various works that he also incorporated into his own manga as another influences from them! That moment after the bitter-sweet ending with Mikasa euthanasing Eren to put an end to the Rumbling for good and the war on Paradis Island hundreds of years later which signifies Eren's efforts to have the People of the Eldian People be known as hero in vain and the sudden cut to three people who resembled Eren, Mikasa and Armin watching a movie which is implied to be the in universe of The Last Attack which is confirmed to be set during the modern era in that universe as indicated by the Giant tree where Eren's head was buried and grown to a gargantuan size is a throwback to visual novel, Muv-Luv Alternative ending where Takeru is finally returned back to his original worldline where the BETAs never invaded Earth after fulfilling his purpose as the Casuality Conductor but going through so much trauma witnessing many of his fellow friends death, some of them old and new including Sumika as the 00-Unit and separating them from good after having his memories of the dreaded worldline wiped out for good. There he was greeted by Kasumi who played the main role in the visual novel as a supporting character in the BETA invading worldline and ended with an average and simple school life Takeru experience with his school friends.

Discussion Why does my favorite anime character feel more like an AoT character 🫨

Post image
6 Upvotes

I feel like I have found another reason why many people (including me) say that Zeref feels so different and not like a Fairy Tail character:

Fairy Tail is all about Power of Friendship and forgiveness, even if it is a trope that is often too far from believable, and there are multiple instances where villains can have forced tragedies or half-baked redemptions (and heroes rely too heavily on forgiveness even if it doesn't always translate logically).

Meanwhile, Zeref's arc was literally focusing on his thorough analysis towards humanity's evolution instead. The sinners' actions and how they victimize passionate ones like Zeref is literally a metaphor based on our real world continuously developing a mindset, in which most of mankind subverted any kind of tragedy that may have once influenced their current behavior, in which the more passionate and thoughtful ones once believed it was all their fault they act this way, but as soon as they start feeling who they are through enough experience, they will sense that their unjustified actions barely or no longer stem from any form of tragedy. This has an elaborate connection to Zeref's eventual troubles in life, in which he had a vague premonition right after he got cursed, but hasn't gone through any experience up until it eventually happened and continued for 400+ years, in which Zeref's thorough analysis towards how so many eras ended (and of course, the horror of humanity's sins for so long while seeing their increasingly blind mindset) made him develop the partial disillusion towards humanity he never wanted after seeing what they have done, and Zeref's view towards the world determines the decisions he has to make after everything.

One of the biggest mystery subplots was us seeing the flashbacks of Zeref's demons attacking humanity, even though Zeref only created them to kill himself (and only expressed heartbreak towards their attacks). The sinners claim that their actions were influenced by the demon attacks (in which they claim it was Zeref's will), but this was revealed by Zeref to be a lie (in that scene where he exposed the sinners' actions in Tenrou Island Arc). He pointed out that the basis that actually drove them into tarnishing his name was actually the Books of Zeref and the R-System, in which this is what gave them the idea of using his name to hide the true meaning of their actions. In addition, Zeref revealed... the flashbacks of the demon attacks were vague (only seen from the POV of the sinners), clarifying that they don't actually depict his true life experiences and never actually showcased his true relationship with those who claim to worship him.

Zeref stated in the Tenrou Island Arc that he was disgusted by all the false rumors and stories sinners use to abuse magic, and the fact that they tried presenting this as authentic in the books of Zeref (such as the keys to unlock Zeref's "seal" and the R-System being used to "revive" Zeref while killing and enslaving innocent people). This implies he was also disgusted by the fact that they used his creations for their own twisted purposes while tarnishing his name when he only tried to kill himself. It also implied the they were the reasons he was unable to help in time; the worst part is that Zeref couldn't save the people during and after the attacks of the demons and the sinners after the creations were taken from him and scattered all over Earthland (which made the circumstances too conflicting for Zeref to do anything), because since the curse is triggered by how much he values life, he would only cause more problems if he ever did a thing, though it was at the cost of everyone's view towards him (meaning the sinners practically abused his conflict and hope for innocents to save themselves, every single time).

To further prove the point, we saw villains use demons that were in fact Zeref's creations; Zeref himself hinted that if you look back on previous arcs and all, there are multiple suspicious moments from the sinners that practically give the idea of what was going on, what hints the things Zeref mentioned the sinners have been doing since 400+ years ago.:

In regards to Attack on Titan, this series is literally a grounded metaphor surrounding humanity's blind mindset, war, and the cycle of hatred, including Propaganda surrounding Ymir Fritz (and Zeref has his own Propaganda storyline too). The sinners' actions of tarnishing Zeref's name may have differences, but the serious point was there.

Discussion Erwin and eren parallels

Thumbnail
gallery
37 Upvotes

Eren and erwin are very similar characters thematically. Both were willing to "become devils" aka commit moral atrocities, in order to achieve their goals. They both did what they did in part for their people, yet there is more to it. Both erwin and eren also have selfish incentives that pushed them to commit said atrocities. In erwin's case, he sacrificed so many of his comrades, sent so many scouts to their deaths... because he wanted find out the truth about the world and show everyone that his father was right. In eren's case, the selfish part of his motive was the desire to have a free/blank state world, just like the one in armin's book.

Some photos from the concert! I was at the 2.30 showing dressed as Kenny and went with my friend who's the Reiner. I have permission from the Eren cosplayer (their TikTok handle is visible in the corner) to post them as well. It was such a good show and I met so many cool people! I did get plenty more photos but since I'm not sure if people are okay with me posting them I've left them out. If you have photos with me please feel free to post them because there were quite a few people who came up to us!

Discussion Sometimes I wonder how the story would turn out if these four switched sides after the attack

I wonder how would the future unfold if these four broke the walls and realised “Oh damn, these people are our kind of people. We are their kind. Let’s warn them about Marley and join forces with them rather than be slaves to Marley.”
