Hi, friends. This is a community post. Last night, we were robbed of our outdoor giant Halloween decorations. We live in South Bend, IN, but on a side road in an older neighborhood on the edge of the city. Some people very carefully stole Inferno Man's head and BOTH of our new-to-us pumpkin ladies. I am posting this out of anger and sadness for society.
Inferno Man is 12 feet tall. The ladies are each six feet tall. It took a great deal of work to steal these items. You can see that these were all very strongly tethered to the ground and were literally screwed into the earth to keep them in place. We also have a Ring Camera and a tracker on Inferno Man. This goes beyond a funny prank. It is a crime. These items were expensive and can't be replaced. They will not be replaced. Michael and I put these up every year for the kids in our community, and for my love of Halloween. People stop and take pics with them, and one year a little boy dressed as Inferno Man as his costume because he loved him so much. Last year, I made Michael his own Inferno Man costume because we love him so much. We live near an elementary school in a quiet neighborhood. Some idiots ruined it for everyone.
Yes, I filed a police report. Yes, we took all of the measures to keep them safe in our yard. Yes, the remaining pieces have been put away so they can't come and steal the rest. And yes, I will be posting this in all of the local social media areas.
I am offering a cash reward for the return of these items, no questions asked. I can be contacted through messenger if someone would like to return them to us.
