Perhaps because President Ford was never hit.

But he was a target on two separate occasions by two women in September 1975, in California. The first was a Manson cult member, the second an FBI informant turned left-wing activist.

And of course the magats didn’t maintain the info on how Lincoln’s Republican Party’s ideology flipped with the Democrats, so the Republicans of the past is the modern day Democrats but that’s too deep for them to understand.

In accordance with the idea that top level comments should be as unbiased as possible I didn’t get into the ideological switch.

Technically if any of these people had been affiliated with the Democratic Party, then the would have been democrats. Even if that argument is massively disingenuous.
