Community Event Channel Feedback Thread

READ THE POST GUIDELINES BEFORE POSTING.

Monthly Community Feedback thread.

Feel free to post a screenshot and link to your page for review of your stream. Please also review as many others as you can so that everyone gets some much desired feedback!

**Here's how it works:**

In giving thoughtful detailed advice for other streamers, observe their channel as both a viewer and a fellow streamer. **Once you have posted your reviews to other people** , post a direct reply to this thread (so it's not embedded in other reply strings), **post your channel link, a link to a Clip, and a screenshot of your overlay** and wait for your feedback. **No low effort posts or replies; posts and replies must be at least 250 characters.**

Consider and give comments on aspects such as:

* how your peers brand themselves overall

* overlay layout/webcam placement and sizing

* layout of their info area

* how they handle chat interaction (look at their VOD if they are not live when you review them)

* video quality

* audio quality

* the games they choose

* features they have or perhaps lack that you think would be useful for them anything else you can think of

There are a few caveats. First - this is going to be an honest review of what you are currently offering as your stream. Be honest, be open, and be respectful. It might be negative and it might be positive. Understand you are asking for the truth; flattery might feel nice, but it will not help you grow.

That said, you might have a clear vision for a certain aspect that perhaps someone else does not see - just because what you do doesn't appeal to some, if you like it, then take what they say with a grain of salt. Don't forget your own instincts or lose yourself in the views of others.

Also, we will remove posts of people who are clearly only looking to receive (those who post their channel for feedback but do not offer a real review of another) so please help this community. We are a network!

Based on community feedback, the mod team have decided to hold one of these threads on the second Friday of every month.

REMEMBER: Review OTHER streamers BEFORE asking others to review yours! Users failing to do this will have their comments REMOVED. Sort by 'NEW' to find the un-reviewed comments, there is no harm in reviewing someone's stream if they have been reviewed by someone else, but PLEASE REVIEW UN-REVIEWED STREAMS FIRST. The more feedback the better! We're all here to help each other!

Question How do you handle a self deprecating chatter in your chat?

I was streaming earlier today and a first time viewer came into my chat. Things went well, we were having a conversation until out of nowhere they started the self deprecating. And it was like everything I said.

I’m already an awkward person, so I’m unsure with how to deal with something like that. I tried to do the whole “don’t say that!” thing, but they didn’t really get the hint.

I’m trying to find the balance between being just rude and standing my ground.

EDIT: I know there was a controversy before about how a streamer handled their chat because their viewer had negative comments in their chat because of a tragedy in their life. (even though that situation was way different, I bring it up to show that some people may generally be struggling with something)

I definitely don’t want to be the asshole who tells people to knock it off, but I also don’t want to be the one who just allows this stuff to happen. The way they were talking they genuinely seemed like they could’ve been trolling, but I didn’t want to jump the gun.

Tech Support Is anyone else experiencing issues with subscription notifications? (Prime & Regular Subs)

Hey everyone! 👋
I wanted to ask if anyone else has been experiencing similar issues with Twitch lately.
Over the past two weeks, I’ve repeatedly noticed that subscriptions (both Prime and regular paid subscriptions) are not being processed correctly every time.

Here’s what happens:
No alert is triggered on stream.
The subscription doesn’t appear in the Creator Dashboard’s Activity Feed.
My connected bots and SE don’t receive any information about the event either.

Apparently, it doesn’t make a difference whether I use Twitch Alerts or a third-party alert solution. The issue seems to occur before the event reaches these services, as subscription events appear to be only partially processed or delivered to connected services.

I don’t want to jump to conclusions and blame Twitch itself, as I can’t currently determine exactly where the issue originates.

So, my question is: Has anyone else experienced similar issues over the past two weeks? Are you also seeing this with both Prime and regular subscriptions, or is everything working normally for you?

I’d be interested to know whether I’m alone with this issue or if other streamers are experiencing it too. 🙂

Question Need help trying to cancel subscriptions

• Upvotes

I just tried to cancel 3 subscriptions to channels I’ve subbed to in the past, since I do want to cut back on charges to my bank. However, I subbed to these 3 channels on mobile, so it doesn’t allow me to cancel on desktop.

So I went to my subscriptions thing on mobile, but these 3 channels instead of being under the “mobile subscriptions” list, it’s instead put as “Other subscriptions” and it doesn’t allow me to click on it to cancel it. I tried going to the Twitch website ON MY PHONE, but it gave me the exact same message that it did on desktop.

I even tried going to the app store on my phone to try and cancel it, but because I subbed to the 3 channels on my old phone, it DOESN’T LIST THE CHANNELS AS AN OPTION! And I can’t use my old phone because it straight up does not work anymore.

Am I just fucked? Or is there a way I can actually cancel it that I don’t know about?

Question Old account

I’m pretty certain my very old twitch account that I no longer have access to was connected to a college email that no longer exists. All I want is my username however I see the account still exists. Is twitch able to release my username or get me back into that account.

I see that the support page makes it very difficult to talk to an actual human being.

Question I am looking for a donation platform with all the other payment methods instead of the direct PayPal link to my PayPal account

Most donation platforms only offer PayPal as an option for new setups. I saw this with StreamElements. They don't currently offer SEpay for new setups, even if you meet all the requirements. I also contacted their support, and they said PayPal is the only option for new setups right now.

So, my question is: Since I don't want PayPal because my real name and email address are visible in the transaction details, I wanted to check, before setting up a business PayPal account, if there are other donation platforms that essentially store your balance and allow you to withdraw it to your own bank account at any time. This way, the donor never sees your personal information because they're paying the platform, not you.

Are there any such sites, or does everything now only work via PayPal directly to my PayPal account?

Tech Support Can’t clip a specific creator’s VODs

I have not been able to clip my favorite streamers VODs, I am pretty new to twitch so I thought I just couldn’t clip any VOD. I realized I was wrong and it is just this one creator. There is not a clip button when I am on their VOD but I can clip normally while they are live. Would it be a settings thing on there end? If so what do they need to change?

Question Can I Make Twitch Open Directly to the Following Tab?

Every time I open Twitch, it takes me to the “Live” tab, and I have to manually switch to the “Following” tab. Is there a way to change this so Twitch opens directly to the “Following” tab instead?

Tech Support Xbox Remote Play Audio Glitching

Hi everyone,

Not sure if anyone could help but I would really appreciate any support.

I stream on twitch via xbox remote play and use Streamlabs to capture the game, audio etc.

I’ve never had this problem before, but the last few weeks or so after about 20-30 mins my voice audio only (not game) will begin to crackle and break up. But ONLY when I’m in the Xbox remote play window (in full screen too). In discord calls, if I’m playing a game on my computer (iMac to be specific) it’s fine. It’s only when I go full screen on the Xbox remote play window while streaming.

I’m not a technical person at all so I’ve fiddled with some settings from a few tutorials, and even bought a new mic (which disproved my theory that it was my previous one).

If anyone has any ideas, please let me know! 😊

PSA AmazonTwitch and AmazonPay issue

becareful not to link your AmazonPay to AmazonTwitch

AmazonTwitch charged unauthorized charges to AmazonPay and AmazonPay colludes with them and says neither one will reverse the charges.

If you want protection, you need to use a direct credit card.

After discussing with AmazonPay, AmazonPay concludes there is no protection if you use AmazonPay and you have to go through a credit card

Tech Support Twitch clips capped at 720p

I was looking at the clips that's been made by my viewers and I just realized they're terribly pixelated. I'm streaming at 1080p and all the vods and published broadcasts are able to set 1080p but not the clips. I can change the quality to lower than 720p but not higher and I can't really publish these clips. Was it always been like that or I'm just blind and realizing that after months of streaming lol

Question am i delusional or do some people use chatterino to stalk people on twitch?

i have a viewer who was OBSESSED and it always felt like he would pop up in wherever chat i would go. it could also just because we have mutuals but he was also the type to have a discord feature where he would see when people are in a private voice channel. i just feel like i'm being watched now, and i dont know if it's trauma from him constantly stalking me before or if i'm being too paranoid.

Tech Support I am constantly getting a "Click here to enable playing muted in the background" and I don't know how to get rid of it.

I am a sometimes-streamer, most of the time viewer on Twitch and I usually game or work while I have 1 or 2 streams up to bounce between. I am constantly getting a message that pops up (and auto-mutes the stream) that says "Click here to enable playing muted in the background" and it is very annoying. I will try to add a photo in a comment below because the subreddit only allows texts posts as far as I can see. This issue is very obnoxious and blocks the screen, then auto-mutes the stream I'm watching. Does anyone else know what is causing this? I have some extensions on chrome that auto-claim points or drops, and I use 7TV and BTTV but I can't see any options anywhere, in any of those other apps that turn this 'feature' off.

Help!

Thanks!

Question Avoiding GTA VI spoilers? Spoiler

imma keep it short and simple. I’m planning on streaming GTA VI, and I wont speed run the game, but again there will be some people who will look at leaks, play throughout the whole game quickly, and spread story spoilers. How can I avoid these spoilers. I dont have consistent mods as they can be busy, and the chat filters will show me the comment as i count as a mod. Not only that, but people WILL find away around the chat filters. So how can I avoid these spoilers? Is there maybe an AI took or smth that will automatically delete spoilers?

Question Idea for remembering to use the 'stream marker' function: a "big red button" which can be assigned to the function, ala stream deck. Except big and hard to miss.

I am super forgetful, so I often forget to mark good stream moments using my stream deck. I run my channel solo atm, and my audience is very small so I can't just ask chat to remind me or to make clips for me. So I've been trying to figure out a way to remind myself to press the bloody button.

Well, I came up with a (kind of dumb) idea. Imagine a big red "that was easy" button, except programmed with a single Twitch function. Whenever you have a good moment, you press it, get a satisfying "ker-THUNK", maybe a funny audio meme, and then continue on. No needing to fish around in menus while looking for the stream deck button or go vod scrubbing later.

I have no idea if this exists, and trying to search for this online makes me sound like a crazy person. So I wanted to ask if anyone knows of a way to do this?

Tech Support stream together, discord, and beacn software

i think this is a weird issue cause im having trouble finding solutions for this specific problem. i use a beacn device for my audio when i stream, and i usually never have issues until i join a stream together/shared chat on twitch. audio will be normal, but as soon as i join, my discord audio goes down by half, but the volume number on the beacn doesnt change. i turn discord up to 100, same with the people im in the call with, and im still getting told by chat that discord is too low. and its only discord, gamee and everything else doesnt change.

does anyone have any advice to fix this, or add a way to turn discord up more than what im doing? ty!

Question Why am I not appearing on display chat?

Literally earlier this stream I was there, but now I'm not. I also don't think my messages are showing for others, because despite it not happening usually I am not being replied to when I'm asking questions (small amount of viewers)
