Thanks to the hype, it’s now $80 for the incomplete version and $100 for the real version. I would’ve bought it new for $70 since that’s apparently the new normal price, but I’m not greenlighting $80 or $100 video games. GTA VI will probably still be wildly successful and just like that, every other publisher will start selling $80-$100 games from then on. Thank God for indie games and steam sales I guess.

I understand your point completely, but I find it hilarious lol $70 is cool but 80 is where you draw the line? That’s damn near the same shit lol

Well.. if you're in the US, sure. But think of it from the perspective of other countries with different currency rates.. I live in malaysia, $70 is already RM283. With $80, it now gets to RM323. Basically RM50 difference. And where I come from thats a huge amount.

Also to OP's point, its the principal; in the 2000s, it used to be $50. Then it increased to $60, and people already had a problem with it. Now its $70 going $80. Its a slow increase, so it makes sense to feel like "its not that much", but if you look back, it was an 80% increase from $50.

Times change 🤷🏾‍♂️ and me being in the US has nothing to do with it at all. The price increase is the same for all of us.

Its not the 80 m8. Its the 80 for the incomplete version. So 100 in disguise

For me personally $100 is not a lot of money to drop. Like that shit is change especially for a one time investment.
I can’t speak for everyone else, but we have to play the cards we’re dealt

Ofc

But, to the commenters point, 70 to 100 is definitely not peanuts

I understand that but when you don’t have a choice, there’s no point in literally being mad about some shit you can’t change. I’m not saying it’s right though

Similarly, I didn’t think GTA V was that good. I found offline (I’m mainly a single player type), the game got boring real quick after completing the story. The police seemed to be like actual terminators, the army base was basically a death trap, it felt like the game was trying to hold you back in many ways. I get they may have been going for a sense of realism, but come on, I grew up on Vice City and San Andreas, where’s the wackiness and pure mayhem?

I far more enjoyed Saints Row The Third. It felt like they made that game under the influence of all the drugs.

I would even dare to say: Saint Row 2 is a better game than GTA V. As a videogame, SR2 is more rewarding and it's actually trying to give me a good time. With V ? All the point you have said and will add the strangers and freaks missions. The old britishs couple? Hilarious. The weed mission? Start fun than waste your time. Same thing with the paparazzi and yada yada.

After all the greed Rockstar is explicitly demonstrating, I could care else about it

Whats sad is it will only get worse. Most people pre ordering the 100 dollar version is insane.

GTA VI and Elder scrolls. I just can’t care anymore. Insane amount of time and the games will end up just being whatever.

Starfield demonstrated to me Bethesda has learned absolutely nothing over the years. Each game is a little bit more soulless than the last. I wouldn't be surprised if Elder Scrolls gets micro managed into mediocrity by the time they actually release something. Even worse than Bethesda would have done without big daddy msft standing over their shoulder.
