Suppliers to avoid

Naturally, we all have our planning trackers and lists of dream suppliers to get. Was just wondering if anyone has compiled a list of SUPPLIERS TO AVOID/WATCH OUT FOR based on nega experiences and objective reviews?

I’m trying to build my own, but it has been slow going. 🤔

From one super praning and cost-conscious B2B to another, let’s help each other out, kahit through DMs para no risk of cyberlibel. 🫣

Photo/Video/Content Creator Can anyone suggest a P&V that does a similar style to this?

We've been searching everywhere for a P&V supplier for wedding but so far none seems to be really doing it for us. Almost all the portfolios that we've seen are either too dramatic, cinematic, dreamy, and scripted. We just want someone who can take candid photos of us with minimalist style in warm, natural lighting. Our wedding is in Alitagtag, Batangas in Oct 2027.

Booked our wedding venue without a proposal any LDR couples who did the same?

• Upvotes

My bf and I have been together for 8 years na and we recently decided that we want to get married in 2028. We’re both in our late 20s, but we’re in an LDR - nasa PH siya and I’m in Canada.

Bf’s planning to propose next year, but realistically, dapat lahat planado and it really can’t be a surprise because we have to plan everything around our schedules and finances.

Has anyone else been in the same situation? Or did anyone skip the proposal then nagpakasal na agad?

Bridesmaid Expenses

Hello! For my bridesmaids (5 po sila), as a courtesy and appreciation to them, I want to shoulder some of their expenses. But i’m also going the non-traditional route wherein we don’t have prep shoot po with our entourage, no call time for them, just quick shoot sa venue before the ceremony. I also want sa prep venue as much as possible to be with immediate family only, so I will not be requiring them to go sa prep venue. I want them to be free with their time para hindi hassle. For the dress, i’m not strict — meron lang peg and color then bahala na sila. I’m thinking to provide monetary na lng then it’s up to them whether to use for dress or HMUA. Did anyone do the same? Any thoughts po? Hindi rin po kami destination wedding. Thank you po 🙏🏻

Thoughts on my wedding palette

I would like to ask some thoughts or comments on my wedding palette. For the guests, initially, we plan to stick with pink, green and yellow shades lang, but I don’t want to limit our guests and added other pastel colors except blue. Any thoughts po? Thank you!

Hi po! Ask ko lang if may alam kayong bilihan nito around divisoria or anywhere? Medyo pricey kasi sya online and di ako makakita ng wholesale. Balak sana namin gamitin for our vegetable souvenirs. Thank you in advance

Post-wedding blues

Our wedding is over. It happened on October 10, and today is October 20. I filed a leave of absence from work from October 7 to October 23. We had an after-party that lasted almost three days with our family and friends, followed by a mini-moon in Tagaytay for three days and two nights.

Today, October 20, I messaged my boss to let them know that I’m ready to return to work. But suddenly, I felt something I couldn’t explain. I realized that I’m not ready to go back to work or return to my normal routine just yet.
I feel like I haven’t fully let go of the wedding phase of my life. I still want to enjoy being a newlywed, be a wife, and spend more time with my husband. Sometimes, I even feel like resigning and just staying at home to focus on our life together.

But I know I would feel guilty because we have bills to pay, and I can’t let my husband shoulder all our financial responsibilities alone. I know I still have responsibilities, and I can’t just give up my job because of how I feel right now.

Is this normal?

Hello just asking what the average cost of posting a wedding bann for 3 weeks costs. Just wondering because my small parish is asking for 1500 pesos upon pickup. My fiancee’s parish only cost 150 to do the same. Thank you guys!!

Graduate bride here and these are our dream teams!!!

My husband and I feel like we hit the jackpot with our suppliers. When we were canvassing ours, we relied on Reddit and Facebook wedding groups for leads. We’re grateful for posts like those with honest reviews that led us to eventually hiring our chosen suppliers. If I could personally tell everyone we meet about how blessed we are with our suppliers, I would! But for now, this is our way to give back to the group, and to also champion our suppliers who helped make our wedding day stress-free, memorable, and reasonably affordable.

Coordinators - We went for JB Calderon Events Managements. Initially, we were drawn to their affordable OTD rates PLUS attractive freebies. But as the wedding grew nearer, my appreciation for hiring them also deepened. We had several meetings online, and every time, Ms. Jesi felt attentive without being pushy. Her presence grounded me and made me feel confident in the preparations. The weekend before the wedding, we had a one-on-one call, but instead of it feeling like a meeting, it felt like talking to a trusted friend. It was super appreciated and really helped calm my nerves. Come our wedding day, we met the team and I was assigned with Joy as my bride manager, aka my guardian angel. She kept me calm and cool during the preps, the drive to the church, all the way til the end. Of course the day was chaotic as expected, and I was worried some of our items might be overlooked and unaccounted for. I appreciate how she kept all of my belongings safely kept in my bags. My husband and I felt so taken cared of by the team, as in til now I still can’t believe how our wedding day went by so seamlessly! Thank you Ms. Jesi, Joy, and everyone!!!

HMUA - We got Janice Adayo as my main and Hannah Piaduche for my small entourage. They both did amazing works on us, but I have more personal experience with Janice. Oh, Janice!! You are heaven sent for someone who can be a little too opinionated and forward with comments. THANK YOU! During our makeup trial, I went there with an unclear idea of how I wanted to look. I expressed my concerns to Janice during the trial, and she adjusted accordingly. One thing I was worried about is being uncomfortable with foundation, so she applied very lightly. After my trial, I sent her a lengthy message about how I thought about this and that and to be honest, I feel like if that was received by a different person, I don’t know how gracious and accommodating they would be with me. Janice was different in a way that she encouraged me to be vocal about what I want, how I want to look on my wedding day, what to add, make less of, everything. For someone like me, THAT IS SO APPRECIATED. I didn’t feel rushed, she didn’t make me feel like a bridezilla. So come our wedding day, huhu I felt soooo beautiful!!!!! My look was very different from my trial, but I loved it so much!!! Grabe, thank you Janice! You’re a miracle worker!!!

Host - Cannot recommend Ryan Tercero enough!! Out of all the hosts we met through our discovery calls, he stood out for several reasons:

  1. He presented us with a timeline and draft of the program which made it easy for me and my husband to visualize the flow of the evening.
  2. It was very easy to talk to him - he seemed so relaxed and easy to work with. My husband even felt like he was someone we could picture ourselves grabbing a beer with! Our guests had a wide age range, and we felt like he would be the best guy for the job. It was easy for us to see how he’d be able to entertain our guests regardless of the age, and true enough, our guests’ feedback after the program are proof we hired the right one!
  3. He’s very classy without being snobbish or boring, which is again a top factor for us, and why our guests enjoyed the evening so much, with special mentions of the host in their comments passed along to us after.
Thank you again, Ryan, for making our wedding reception a fun, enjoyable one!!

Venue - Casa Aguilar in BF Homes. Initially, we were considering an al fresco restaurant in Festival Mall, but ultimately reconsidered because of two factors: no ac and a lot of corkage fees. So I looked for another venue near our church and found Casa Aguilar. I didn’t have a lot of hope in it to be honest, because I was still fixated with our original venue. What made me and my family fall in love with Casa Aguilar was how accommodating they were! We went there during one of their free tastings, and we appreciated that 1. When you book them, you’re entitled for unlimited food tasting, 2. They weren’t too strict about your check in and check out times (huge factor!) and 3. They were very flexible in terms of freebies, arrangements, etc. They also have a beautiful reception hall to begin with, so that already was a selling factor so additional styling could be optional. They also have a free photobooth with the package! They have in-house catering and styling team, so it really minimized the stress of coordinating with a lot of different suppliers. Special thank you to Sir Jess, Ms. Grace, Ms. Ai and Chef Lowey!!! Thank you for the warm accommodation and the delicious food!!!

Mobile Bar - Barcato!!! 100% would get them again!! Super friendly, super easy to transact with. Plus they join a lot of pop ups so you can sample their menu! We had them at our wedding and our guests enjoyed both the amaretto sour and spicy mangorita! One thing that can be noted for next time would be asking the guests for their tabasco level of preference. Wouldn’t want other guests to miss out on this drink just because they think it only comes in spicy variant! My husband and I still regret not being able to go back for ROUNDS during our reception - they’re that good! Definitely one of our favorite suppliers!!! I’m already craving for their amaretto! Til next time guys!!

Church - Nature Church Las Pinas - Other than being so beautiful and so perfect for me and my husband, who I really want to give special thanks to is our church coordinator, Ms. Cecil. It can be overwhelming to inquire for church requirements - let alone doing it alone as an LDR couple. When I met Ms. Cecil and she gave me a list of the requirements, naturally, I felt so overwhelmed. But she was the only one who reassured that it is doable and she’ll be with us every step of the way. True enough, what felt like a mountain of paper work from 2 countries eventually became something so manageable, because of her guidance. We are endlessly grateful for her!

Our other notable suppliers:
PV - Relentless Fire
Video Guestbook - LetMeKnow Video Guestbook
Grazing/Cocktail Hour - Cocktails MNL

Favors/Gifts/Souvenirs Gift ideas for well-off Principal Sponsors

Hello! My fiancé and I are having a hard time thinking of what to give our principal sponsors as a token of appreciation for being part of our wedding. ❤️

Our principal sponsors are quite well-off, and honestly, medyo mahirap mag-isip ng gift for people who can pretty much afford to buy the things they want for themselves. 😅 We’ve been browsing this sub and Facebook for ideas, pero wala pa rin kaming makita na feeling namin would suit them.

We want to give something nice and thoughtful, but we’d prefer sana something that isn’t personalized or engraved.

Sa mga kinasal na with well-off or alta na principal sponsors, ano pong gifts ang binigay ninyo sa kanila? Would really appreciate your suggestions! Thank you! 🫶

Proposal He Proposed!

We‘ve been together for 8 years (3 years LDR) and I just came home for my vacation. He popped the question on his birthday (we celebrated together for the first time after 3 years of being LDR) and it was so beautiful and magical and perfect! He knows me so well (He chose my birthstone which is also my favorite color. I love him sooooo much 💕)

I don‘t have a dream engagement ring but if I did, this is exactly it ✨

Our crew meals will cost over 30K.

We need to provide breakfast for 19 people and then lunch for 54 and dinner for 54 at P250 per meal. This already includes the meals for the catering and wait staff, the people manning all our booths and stations, as well as the venue styling team.

I accept naman na crew meals are really part of wedding expenses and kaya naman bayaran. When I saw the final amount I just went "Oh." Malaki laking amount din yan. Now I get all the fuss about it and why it's usually a sore topic.

Rants/Advice/Other Questions Suggestions for Catholic churches + wedding venues around Tagaytay / Alfonso, Cavite

Hi! We’re currently looking for a Catholic church and wedding reception venue around Tagaytay, Alfonso, or nearby areas in Cavite. Ideally, the church and reception venue should be close to each other to make it more convenient for us and our guests.

We’re planning an intimate wedding with around 100 guests or less and would love recommendations for churches with a beautiful ambiance and reception venues that are accessible, have good parking, and offer a nice setting for a wedding.

We’re also open to venues with scenic views, gardens, or a cozy countryside atmosphere. Personal recommendations and honest reviews would be greatly appreciated, especially regarding the venue packages, parking, accessibility, and overall experience.

Thank you so much in advance! 🤍

Balay Dako

Hello, guys! 🤍
Planning our wedding for January 2028! 🥹💍
I’ve been hearing good reviews about Balay Dako when it comes to food and as a possible reception venue. If ever doon kami mag-decide for our reception, may marerecommend ba kayong venue nearby for the ceremony?

We’re a born-again Christian couple, so we prefer a church wedding or an outdoor garden ceremony. Hopefully, may ma-suggest kayo na hindi super mahal ang venue since we’re also allotting a budget for styling and decorations. 🥹

Would appreciate your recommendations and personal experiences, especially from couples who had their wedding around Tagaytay. Thank you so much! 🤍✨

Is it true that you can't have your kumpil/confirmation elsewhere but on the church you're getting married into?

We are really not sure if we are already confirmed from church

I went to 2 churches here in pampanga already, and they said that my fiancee and I should get confirmation on the same church kung san kami mag papa kasal. Our wedding is already 4 months away, and the next confirmation schedule is on January and wala pang final date according sa office ng church. Would just like to know your thoughts on this?
