Im not a man of religion.

Im okay with my legacy only being: 1) what i leave behind on earth. 2) the memories and experiences i gave everyone.

But i really want to believe in hell for all the absolute monsters who made life so hard for so many people.

My theoretical heaven would be observing these people in hell and traveling the world with my girlfriend.

My theory is that next life a bad person gets, is whoever they treated the worst. That's how I would design it.

There are some... concerning implications if you follow that logic through, though.

yeah nations of suffering people cause they were all “bad people in a past life” is a crazy cope for christian people to not care about 3rd world countries and ignore the fact that they directly benefitted from it.

I’m not arguing that it’s bad cope but Christian’s wouldn’t believe this because they don’t believe in reincarnation, they believe in heaven and hell for your actions. I’m sure there are some but it’s not in any of the Christian denominations faith

you’re right, you’re right. Mentally defaulting cause I just hear that way too much about “in a past life” from people here in the U.S.

4

u/SaveyourMercy Sep 04 '26

Yeah it gets thrown around here a lot, even I say shit like that from time to time despite not actually believing in reincarnation. Im also not Christian though but grew up in the church. Just wasn’t sure if you knew that wasn’t Christianity or not! It’s still a fucked up cope though

It definitely wouldn’t be a Christian belief because Christians believe in either Heaven or Hell, with some denominations also believing in Purgatory (not quite Hell and you work your sins off to get into Heaven with a lesser punishment than those in Hell). That might be a Buddhist or Buddhist adjacent belief.

yes i acknowledged my error in assumption earlier, just haven’t bothered editing it. I just see it adopted and talked about from just about everybody other than actual buddhist in western culture but I’ve never actually learned about christianity outside of being raised in a baptist family

Like who's being reincarnated into the abuser position?

1

u/bluesam3 Sep 07 '26

I was thinking more the implication that people being abused deserve it.

Read The Egg.

You are everyone that existed and ever will exist. So you’re Hitler and Jane Goodall. You’re ghegis Khahn and Mr Roger’s. Everything you did or will do is something you’re doing to yourself.

Or watch it if you prefer.

It's a short story by Andy Weir (The Martian, Project Hail Mary).

I did 24 grams of mushrooms one time and this was what I saw

I heard about the story after and was mind blown for a bit

Religion is fake. Its stories told to make dumb people manageable. It has been responsible for the overwhelming majority of all crimes against humanity and it is still going strong to this day. Any supporter of religion is a failure of a human.

u/sesquipedalia1 Sep 04 '26

Nah, I've never bombed a children's hospital or even considered doing anything approaching that. Calling me just as bad cause I jerk off or whatever is the dumbest false equivalency religion ever made up

Where was i comparing myself to monsters or god?

0

u/ProfessorPrudent2822 Sep 04 '26

When you dreamed of watching the monsters being tormented in Hell, with the assumption that you wouldn’t go to Hell with them.

Gods of the Abrahamic religions are monsters, pretty much all of us are better than those gods. They deserve no worship.

Compared to 'god', I am Mr. Fucking Rogers.

I've never dared a dude to kill his firstborn then called it off at the last minute.

I've never tortured a man and killed his whole family just to win a bet.

I've never destroyed a town full of people save for one family that offered up 2 virgin daughters to be raped, then turned the mother into salt for having the audacity to look back at her home being destroyed, then watched in silence while the two daughters impregnated themselves by getting their dad drunk and riding his cock.

I've never flooded the entire planet.

I've never impregnated a 12-14yr old girl with myself so I could sacrifice myself to myself to make myself forgive humanity for the 'sins' that I made up.

I could keep going like this for days, but I think my point is made. Your god fucking sucks,. Even in his own fictional storybook, he's the bad guy.

Why are you getting mad at God for wiping out a city that formed a rape mob and also for sparing that one family. Your ego is enormous, and it’s all focused on condemning God to justify yourself.

1

u/Viper67857 Sep 04 '26

You just cherry-picked what you think was the least shitty thing he's supposedly done in my list of very shitty things, yet it's my ego that is enormous? I'd argue that it's your ego that keeps you thinking that you're special enough to be born into the one and only religion (out of thousands) that knows the truth about a so-called god who hasn't personally shown himself since the fucking bronze age, and only then to one tribe of desert-dwellers.

Like, seriously? There's one god that created the entire fucking universe with countless galaxies full of countless stars and plants, and he actually gives a fuck about YOU and whether or not you marry someone of the same gender? But, yeah, I'm the one with the goddamn ego 🙄.

Your entitlement is out of this world. How about being grateful for your life, which didn’t have to exist?

1

u/OsmeOxys Sep 04 '26

You're comparing a guy who kills kids for funsies to a someone who wants to leave the world a better place as if they're equally moral.

Not everyone is a monster, but you certainly are.

0

u/ProfessorPrudent2822 Sep 04 '26

What does that better world look like? “Good intentions” are often a cover for selfishness.

1

u/OsmeOxys Sep 04 '26

The only thing that matters is intention towards kindness and willingness for self sacrifices to achieve that kindness. That's morality. The person who's going on about Christianity should probably know that.

Most atheists and agnostics I've met are arduous followers of Jesus' teachings. Not because a book told them to, but because of the goodness in their hearts. Instead you metaphorically spit in his face while banging on you book you ignore and abhor, claiming to be godly.

If there is an afterlife like heaven, that book you use to as decoration says those atheists shall be rewarded for all of eternity.

You, however... Matthew has a lot to say of you, and none of it bodes well for whatever afterlife you may dream of.
