It’s important to remember that the disinformation campaigns Russia has run online are well known by now. There are bad actors everywhere.

Plenty of videos online of Ukraine kidnapping their own citizens against their will to fight in the war. It's possible for both Russia and Ukraine to suck at the same time.

No, but does that mean we're ok with a country kidnapping it's own citizens and forcing them into war where they will likely die? Do two wrongs now suddenly make a right?

Thats exactly what a draft is. Pretty much every country facing potential annihilation in a war has done the same thing. If someone refuses to obey the draft to fight, they are put in jail at minimum, or killed at worst.
