We heard your numerous requests for a space where Lebanese people can connect beyond politics and news, and we are happy to introduce r/lebanonLounge, a new sister sub connected to r/lebanon, run by the same mod team as this one with some new faces joining in.
The idea is simple: a lighter space for the Lebanese community to meet people, make friends, post dating introductions, plan meetups, ask for relationship advice, talk about music, movies, anime, gaming, hobbies, gossip, and just unwind without politics or news taking over every conversation.
A quick overview of our rules:
No politics or news
No NSFW content or hookups
Be polite and respectful. This is a non negotiable.
Dating posts are for Lebanese people only, whether local, expat, or diaspora
No ads, sales, or promotions

Helloo! We recently moved to a new Appartment and found out that our parking space is stolen.
We spoke to the guy who was very sweet initially, he said he’ll move his car by tomorrow…it’s been 2 weeks.
Last time we spoke with him he got mad and said “jibou min ma badkon siyarte ma btenshel men hon”
The things is, he is well connected and works in a government job. I want to involve el baladiye bs I’m not sure they would be of any help. Has anyone experienced something similar?
What do you guys recommend for a person with anger issues and anxiety?
I tend to lose control and become angry easily. Reaching a point where i start screaming and damaging household items uncontrollably until i fall to the ground.
I never hurt or hit anyone. It's just that i scream alone, hit the walls, doors, items. Until i fall to the ground and start crying, and i would have the most terrible headache + high blood pressure and heart rate
I have not always been like this. I was a calm person who sometimes gets angry, but not this way.
Life pressure and everything/everyone around have contributed to this.
Any advice?
Note: Therapy is not an option. Please do not tell me to go to therapy. I barely have enough money for the essentials
i was reading an article that bad roads , and ups and downs , might lead to faster battery degradation among other stuff . i wanted to check if this is happening in Lebanon given or roads are perfect (joke) . what problems are you facing with EV'S , problems that require mechanics or experts to fix ? and are they expensive ? i am thinking of buying one , and getting more solar panels and charging station .
I’ve got 48 hours to spend in Beirut next month. Anything I shouldn’t miss? Any tips I should keep in mind? I have been to Beirut in the past and mostly went to bars and clubs. I’ve since then gotten old and stopped drinking. Now more interested in art, good food, and culture.
Feels like it should be illegal to me otherwise if you have a school you can basically get free money and no one will say a thing... Because... It's "School"
I might be making a big fuss about this but i felt like if at least i am right, i might as well raise awareness as it feels like forced theft which is utterly unnecessary.
30$ - 100$ or 1$ .. I don't like it when someone make money out of ignorance. Especially FORCED.

I'm shopping for internet around ashrafieh. I'm currently using a local private provider but the connection is beyond shit recently. We're talking 100-300KB/s downloads, frequent disconnections, etc. It's getting really annoying and the guy charges a lot compared to the service he provides. I suspect he's either sharing the account and overcharging us, OR his provider is shit.
Anywho, I've looked into Ogero and IDM and they both have really good offers for my situation in both fiber and non-fiber departments.
I don't have a landline but I'm not sure if the building has a box installed (I assume they do).
I know IDM is a middle man basically, but I value having service as reliably as possible as I work online (the speed doesn't matter that much as long as it's good enough for normal usage). So good service and customer support are paramount, I don't want to call some guy and for him to go "we'll look at it in a week or two".
Can someone advise regarding Ogero vs IDM in the area?
I'm open to other providers if there're any in the area.
I used to support them as a kid (80s/90s) but I left Lebanon decades ago and want to get their shirt as a memorabilia before I leave Beirut. Thanks in advance!
Tanqeeb is a job aggregator: it collects listings from other job boards. I collected every Lebanon listing it showed for the last 30 days (Sep 16 to Oct 16, 2026), 2,161 of the 2,162 it reported, removed duplicates by listing ID, and looked at who posts them, where, and what they disclose.
1. No LinkedIn, and half from Hirelebanese
In Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Egypt and Qatar, LinkedIn was the biggest source (35 to 56% of listings). For Lebanon there are none. Hirelebanese supplies 47.6%, Naukri Gulf 39.1% and Bayt 11.3%.
Naukri Gulf also carries 208 listings posted as "Client of Hire Lebanese", and 153 of those have a title that also appears on Hirelebanese, so a good share of what looks like two boards is the same vacancies posted twice.

2. One listing in six comes from a recruiter
Recruiters and job platforms (Hire Lebanese clients, PrimeTalent, Jobs for Humanity, Expertise Recruitment and others) posted 343 listings, 15.9%. Another 261 (12.1%) name no company at all. The biggest named employer is the UN (64 listings, counting its careers-portal posts), then Beautypulse Arabia (54).
top employers
3. 8% show a salary; the median is $1,000 a month
Bayt shows a salary on 14.3% of its listings, Hirelebanese 13.4%, Naukri Gulf 0 of 844. Some Hirelebanese jobs that show a salary appear on Naukri Gulf under the same title and company without it (43 of them).
Among the 123 listings with a monthly dollar figure, the median advertised midpoint is $1,000 (10% under $550, 10% over $1,850). I left out hourly and per-project rates, and 37 salaries labelled "LBP" with amounts like "LBP 800-1000", which are almost certainly dollars. It's a small sample, mostly from one site, so it describes these listings, not pay across Lebanon.

4. Other things that stood out
Beirut is 96.5% of listings. Mount Lebanon 29, Beqaa 26, North 17, South 1. Labels are as published, so some "Beirut" jobs may be just outside the city.
Sales is the biggest category (26.4%), then accounting and finance (9.3%). The most common title is Accountant.
99% full-time, 99% on-site. Remote or hybrid: 1.1%.
The weekend is dead: about 11 new listings on a Saturday and 15 on a Sunday, against 81 to 98 on weekdays.
new listings by weekday
Limits: these are listings on one aggregator, not all jobs in Lebanon or people hired. About 30% look like repeats (same title, company and governorate), often the same vacancy on two boards; counting each once leaves 1,512 distinct roles. One listing can cover several positions. A missing salary does not mean a job is unpaid. No personal data was collected (Tanqeeb cards can include recruiter contact details; those were skipped).

Hello, Im a Palestinian Canadian with a Lebanese mother. I was wondering if i could renounce my refugee status card and apply for the 3 year renewable visa since my mother is Lebanese. Im asking since because im Palestinian i cannot own property and do various other things, but as a Canadian i can.
Like many people, I have Maronite Lebanese heritage. Family emigrated around 1890. I’ve been trying to dig up records from their village, Bazoun, in North Lebanon. Daniel, Chaaya, Elias, etc families.
I ran into a Family Search page with the two Mukhtars numbers but no reply there.
Any advice? I’d love to visit one day but I’m also impatient and I’ve been looking for years.
I, am a big fan of book fairs. I love books, I grew up with books, every year my parents would take me to biel, which is a book fair in Lebanon, seaside arena. Never in my life, I remember, seeing political books in biel. It was mostly children books, young fiction, and literature. But, what the hell, actually happened this year.
Im a freelance photographer, and my sister works in the book fair. Her team, has a booth, and I went there to take picture and overall help plus see the book fair. Bro, I was terrified, I was creeper out. It was all, about Iran and Khamenei and NasrAllah. I dont mind, its a book, a book is a book. It doesn't have a religion or an identity or anything. But the amount, of people, booths, about this specific political party, that, for me, as a young Lebanese, hate so bad. Btw, I have never harmed anyone who loves this political party and I dont care, but, the sheer amount of them, being there, terrified me.
We should, let kids, the youth of Lebanon, the teenagers, love books, not political parties, not politics, not people who support death and war in the name of peace. Where is the literature, where are the colorful books that would make a kid fall in love or like reading?!
I think Lebanon should have a policy on how book fairs should be concluded. No political books or political images in those national book fairs. There are online book shops, there are libraries outside the book fair that are selling political books, go to them if you live that topic. Dont let our kids see the war and the destruction by those politicians that you support inflict them and make them have ideas
