Reminder: this subreddit is for birds utilising public transport (trains, buses, trams, etc.) — if you have general bird content to share, here are some more appropriate subs.

Please only post birds actually using public transport to this subreddit. 🙂
I understand /r/birdstakingthetrain appears prominently in the search results for "bird" when you're on the subreddit submission page, but this subreddit is not for general bird content – even if it's humorous!
We're only for birds on trains. 🐦🚂
Alternatives for non-railbound bird content
Give some love to:

Don't worry if you do post something here mistakenly, just be aware that it will be removed by the mods. We don't ban people for mistakes.
EDIT: Updated subscriber counts; added /r/Birbs.
EDIT Dec 2018: Nearly 2019! Updated subreddits' subscriber counts.
EDIT April 2020: Updated stats. I hope you're not all going too mad indoors!
EDIT June 2023: We hit 80,000! Woohoo. Updated the related subreddits' stats. Some have grown so much – /r/birding grew from 44,000 in 2020 to 447,000 in 2023!
EDIT Dec 2024: Merry Christmas! Updated stats again. Might have to post a reminder about Rule #1 – birds should be on the train, not just nearby!

Someone in the comments named this sub but didn’t think to share here. I hope some random (me) passing it on doesn’t violate etiquette.
