A recently finished commission turning the Black Dragon King into Jund’s haste queen! The client provided the source art, and bringing him to life across the card frame was an absolute blast.
I definitely hit a rough patch on this one—managed to get sick not once, but twice during the process, which pushed the timeline out much further than planned. Huge shoutout to the customer for being so incredibly patient, understanding, and fantastic to work with through the delays.
Seeing the finished alter in hand makes the extra time entirely worth it. This was actually my first time really looking into Ognis as a commander, and now she’s officially made it onto my personal deck-building queue.
Completed with Acrylics

My partner built a Cormela, Glamour Thief deck they're very excited about, so I wanted to give them a one of a kind Cormela.
I cut out the frame of the art deco alt art Cormela and glued it on top of the og art Cormela for a 3D effect. Added some gold paint on the filigree work and some shimmery deep burgundy in some of the relief spaces for a jewel effect.
Bonus Copy token, because the deck runs on making copies of Cormela that get sacrificed to the legend rule.

Golden acrylic on revised edition basic mountain. Thoughts and critiques welcome I'm trying to practice and learn. I thought about scratching away some paint to reveal the name and type line but I was underconfident. First time altering so I guess I should just try shit and not worry about damaging the card. I find myself really liking the full card alters where just the name and type line are original print so I want to figure out how to do that

Today I finally tried painting by altering a mtg card after months of thinking about starting to paint.
Last time I painted something was during middle school during art classes (a long time ago). So I a total noob at painting.
As you can see I struggled to get the right color palette starting with my 3 primaries + b/w. I also tried blending the sky colors but also the sands hues in the black border (wanted to get more brown at the half bottom of the card). How do you keep some of you mixed colours fresh to get some back when going back to a part of a card? Mine were already dried (or too much fluid in the wet palette), so I had to mix my colours a 2nd time without being able to 100% match the previous one.
I may continue on this one, but not sure if it will not be a bit hard to add some details on it as the paint already 100% dried and some parts are thick (due to multiple layers).
In any case, I'm really looking forward to continue painting and altering! Will try to progress in color theory and paint application!

I have a Ghired // Valakut, Molten Pinnacle deck and really wanted to incorporate a volcanic painting for my alter and was glad I remembered Roerich’s work!
A simple acrylic painting recreation but may go back and make it more detailed on another copy!

Made a custom deck box for my zombie deck. This is currently second deck box I’ve customized with plenty more to come!
For this, I used Posca on an Ultimate Guard deck box.
