Using a hypothetical $10 million deal, he explained why taking the money comes with obligations:
"When everybody says like 'oh my record label controlling me, and I can't get out of this deal and yall need to let me go' bro the record label sitting back like, we're controlling you because we gave you $10 million and you think you're gonna do whatever you wanna do with our money? And you're thinking you're getting out of the deal free without paying our money? You don't do anything, your shit flopped, we gave you $10 million for you to drop a dope project, so now you think we just gonna let you walk out?"
His argument is basically that artists can't accept millions upfront, leave their commitments unfulfilled and expect to walk away freely.

Y’all stuck in the past gooning to Drake or Kendrick. Move on. Hip hop doesn’t revolve around 2 people.

One thing that annoys me is people looking for other reasons to hate or downplay an Artist that doesn't have anything necessarily to do with the quality of their music.
I'm not talking about a subjective difference of opinion on their music especially if it's been established and didn't just suddenly change. I'm talking about people just being fake as hell about how they've been performing in the music industry because of other things that happened involving them.
Some examples are
- People acting like Drake has never been that guy, because of his beef with Kendrick
- People hating on Kanye's music because of his Antisemitic remarks
- People acting like Post Malone didn't have bangers because he decided to switch genres
- People saying Eminem can't be a legend because of his identity
- Etc
Just stop with the bullshit. You don't have to agree with or like everything an Artist does, but trying to act like they're bad musically or didn't have an impact on music because of it is just being stubbornly dishonest and disingenuous.

Speaking with Akademiks, DJ Vlad claimed Birdman wanted Migos to sign with his label before allowing Drake to appear, according to Vlad, Coach K refused, and the appearance was pulled.
Separately, QC's P told The FADER that Drake's label never cleared the remix for iTunes sales:
"Sometimes I really wish he had never jumped on it, it was gonna blow without him"

"Kendrick Lamar: Music, Message, Legacy and Culture. And in my personal story, also a name that will live forever. ❤️ 🔥
"His art goes far beyond hip-hop: his words, his story, his way of conveying emotions and turning music into a message that spans generations make him a unique artist."
"I had the opportunity to meet him, a moment | will always treasure with great respect and admiration. But there's something even more personal that ties me to his legacy: my son is named after him. Kendrick Rakim Dome. A decision born out of love for this culture and admiration for an artist who left a deep imprint on my life."

If you run into the iceman what you gon do except freeze 🥶 🧊 Kendrick’s jacket isn’t even insulated for what the boy is bringing
The boy stays cold. Respect the glacier

when he is not dissing, the guy is truly overrated. Simply listen/read these lyrics. On a feature, He never rhymes and doesn't really say anything high-level or intellectual. Kanye does everything he tries to with his political bars but better, Drake makes better songs, J Cole is more interesting as a "coming to age" personality. I just don't get it. This post is what triggered me. I listened to this again and it's just ghetto standard trash rap but since it's Kdot, let's pretend otherwise... SMH. I'm just over it, gang.

"The next chapter is, you know, I don't really want to get too far ahead of myself, but the inspiration behind it was Denzel [Washington] and Spike Lee, you know, 'Malcolm X'. I'm ready to go redhead on them, go stupid." (via Rolling Stone)
