In the anime, Naoki (Hanged Man Social Link) is depicted as Kanji's childhood friend, but they would end up in a different class during high school and don't talk often. This isn't depicted in the game. And in the game you would meet Naoki a week earlier when Morooka asked you to join the student health association.

The anime also depicts the scene where the group eats the instant noodles at the rooftop instead of inside their class as seen in the game.

The anime seems to try speedrunning his social link by the way of Kanji dragging Naoki to the team (who's eating Aiya's beef bowls ordered by Chie after the group's curry was a disaster), and ask him questions. Narukami, being so direct about his words and directly asking if he's being left alone by others after the death of his sister, somehow would be received well by Naoki, and he apologizes for treating Narukami coldly despite not knowing anything about him.
