Troubleshooting Help with missing parts of first layer.
Hello - I'm fairly new to 3D printing and I'm working on adding an SVG to a deck box I'm working on. I added this SVG to the bottom of the model in Bambu studio as a modifier and did a test print. It looks good besides the missing segments.
I'm trying to figure out if I can get this to work. Is it the lines of the SVG text are too thin to print this way or settings I should try adjusting. I appreciate any help.
Printing on a Bambu H2D with 0.4 nozzle and working in Bambu Studio.

A 3D printer is different than a normal printer in that the nozzle is very wide. Your 0.4mm nozzle has a min area it can cover. The text here looks like it gets very thin, so the brown stops to allow the gold to fill the space, but the nozzle can’t get that thin so it stops before filling the space.
Even with a 0.25mm nozzle, you may not be able to remove all the empty space. You can check this in the slicer by previewing the gcode after telling the slicer to use a 0.25mm nozzle.
Either make the text thicker or put a cutoff near the area it stopped being filled so the area is filled with brown.

You need to simply enable Detect Thin Walls (or switch to Arachne wall generator) in Bambu Studio and it will print fine. By default, the printer will otherwise skip any lines where it's too thin to complete a loop.
I actually printed the same model a while ago, and I don't know why the author didn't enable it in the preset.

Thank you - switching to Arachne Wall generator in studio definitely showed a difference in the slice. Also might try a 0.2 nozzle.

Hey there, I'm a bot and something you said made me think you might be looking for help! click here for our wiki entry on troubleshooting printers. If you still need help be sure to post plenty of information about your printing setup.
Here are a few questions that might be helpful
What printer are you using?
What material are you using?
What speed are you printing at?
What software are you using to slice the print and control the printer?
When did the problem start/has it ever worked correctly?
Does anything cause the behavior to change?
If posting an image of the problem, include some indication of the orientation it printed at, preferably photograph it on the bed. (Then we can focus on a specific axis)

Like others said, either make it thicker or if you’re willing you could do a circle of gold (OD touching the outside of the text) one layer below the black

You can try flooding. Leave the gold inlay out for the first few layers, however deep the lettering currently is. Make an internal section that stretches over the empty letters that is gold and turn on thick bridges and maybe bump the bridge flow rate slightly . If done right the bridge material should flow down to the first layer filling the gaps
