Anyone using Amlactin and Tret at the same time?
My YouTube feed has been flooded with Dr. Dray talking about Amlactin. I’m curious if anyone is using it as a moisturizer after tretinoin.

Hi all -
For folks who want to get topical skincare only advice, I've added a flair for this. Please use this on your post when you want to request comments relating to topical skincare only. While I cannot promise every commenter will clearly see it, let's give it a chance to see if this is helpful for those who do not want suggestions for procedures or surgery.
As a reminder - this sub covers all things skincare - including procedures, surgery and injectables as well as topicals. It will continue to be a place where questions can be asked. I encourage you to curate your experience on here as the sub firmly remains a place to talk about the range of things folks do to take care of their face and body.
Another note, I've seen a number of posts and commenters discussing sub-q injections of peptides. Posts/comments related to this will be removed, including using slang (e.g. pinning). This falls under the DIY rule, is a grey area, and as such, not allowed on the sub. There are plenty of places on Reddit to discuss this, but this is not one of them.
Modmail is always open. Use the 'message mods' button on the front of the sub.

Hi all -
Recently I've seen a number of comments in the community where Redditors are claiming certain aesthetic credentials (e.g. Licensed Esthetician, NP, Derm PA, etc) when replying to sub posts.
Here is the issue - neither I or anyone else here can actually validate you are in fact, an accredited professional. That's a problem as this presents a conflict on Reddit's key rule about impersonation and the need to be authentic when posting.
The additional issue that arises is that the use of the credential implies some expert knowledge, and that a person on the sub may consider a post/comment where another Redditor claims a credential with more weight or authority.
When looking at how other reddits (and specifically skincare reddits) have dealt with this, I saw two basic schools of thought:
In weighing these options, I've decided for now, that I will look to make a sub rule on the use of credentials. To be clear - this does NOT prevent anyone from posting or commenting, but it does ask you to allow your post or comment to stand on its own without asserting a claimed credential.
I'll see how this works out as the new rule goes into effect. If there is enough interest, I may consider validated users via user flair in the future.
Thanks for to everyone for continuing to make this community vibrant and interesting. I will continue to look for ways to make our community safe and user-driven. Happy as always to take feedback!

I need advice on good Viramin C and RetinAl serum and/or cream. My years long products seem to be less effective. I think my might have changed. My skin quality is good but feels drier. Korean and other suggestions. TIA

Hi everyone! I have extremely sensitive, reactive, acne-prone skin and feel like almost every skincare product I try breaks me out 😭 I honestly can’t figure out what ingredients are causing it, but I tend to get these tiny little bumps/dots all over my face whenever my skin reacts to something.
I’ve had bad experiences with products containing hyaluronic acid and niacinamide, and even Vanicream broke me out.
The only moisturizer I’ve been able to tolerate lately is Illiyoon Ceramide Ato Concentrate Cream, but I feel like it’s not moisturizing enough. And the only cleanser I can use right now without issues is literally Dove soap lol.
Does anyone with similar skin have any holy grail moisturizer or gentle cleanser recommendations? I’m desperate 🥲

I do nothing. 57, would like to have better skin. I do nothing because it’s really sensitive and prone to breakouts if I do too much. Have rosacea but don’t treat as everything made it worse. Don’t wear makeup.
Pic in full sun and had to close eyes as it was too bright!

hi! 49 sensitive/reactive/vascular rosacea. I’ve tried tret and other retinoids in varying potencies and have always reacted, felt super wrinkly and dehydrated even with the lowest potency from environ, gotten flaky and dry, etc. I’ve done IPL and that was fine. I get Botox in dao and chin and last time along jawline. I also am just getting over a stomach bug so most likely dehydrated but I’m not great at drinking water in general. I have a terrible time finding products that I don’t react to. I’ve got some histamine issues but nothing diagnosed. I’ve been on HRT for almost 3 years. Right now I’m using osea cleansing milk, innbeauty extreme eye cream, and dieux skin mercy with colloidal oatmeal. They aren’t seeming to make things worse but I’m not wowed by any means. I‘ve used and not liked most sensitive skin drugstore brands. I think i might react to niacinamide but not sure. I used SkinCeuticals triple lipid for a while and that was also fine but didn’t do anything magical. I’m considering doing a series of PRX treatments in office to help with collagen and sagging. I’m open to all the advice! Definitely feeling like the aging process is underway!! Thanks!

I never struggled with my skin as a teenager or young adult. All my skin problems appeared "overnight", or so it felt, when I was 35. The first two pictures show my skin in varying degrees of distress, while the last one was taken yesterday and shows how my skin looks now.
I've spent 10 years struggling with varying degrees of inflamed acne and skin redness. I've tried everything out there, from antibiotics to creams and skincare routines. Nothing helped. Until I realised that the routines I'd been trying were simply too much. There were too many products, and I just couldn't keep up with them. So I scaled everything down, and this is the routine I've been following for the past 10 months. My acne and red skin are now history!
Morning:
I simply use a soft, damp cloth to wipe away any sleep from my eyes. I never wash my face in the morning, whether with water or cleanser. I then apply a pea-sized blob of azelaic acid, Finacea 15%, to my chin and the lower part of my face. I never apply it to the tops of my cheeks or underneath my eyes because my skin doesn't like it there. Then I apply a moisturiser, whatever I happen to have at hand, and, lastly, SPF 50 before leaving the house.
Night-time:
I use a gentle oil cleanser, Klairs Gentle Black Deep Cleansing Oil. If I'm wearing make-up, such as face powder or foundation, which I seldom do, I double-cleanse using a water-based cleanser after the oil cleanser. The one I use is also from Klairs and is called Gentle Black Facial Cleanser.
I apply the oil cleanser to dry skin and work it in gently but thoroughly. I then emulsify it with a little water, massage it in again and wash it off with lukewarm water. I never use hot water, as that can dry out the skin.
I then apply another pea-sized blob of azelaic acid, Finacea 15%, to the same areas as in the morning. I let it dry down before applying a pea-sized blob of Differin (adapalene) to my whole face, except underneath my eyes and on the tops of my cheeks. Lastly, I apply a thin layer of Vaseline as my night-time moisturiser. And that last step, the Vaseline, was what took my skin from clear but dry to clear, plump and soft!
It can take up to three months or even longer before you see a change in your skin, and that was certainly the case for me, too. I stuck with it, skipped all the different "must-haves", and now you can see for yourself in the last picture how my skin looks! I get compliments on my skin all the time now.
Disclaimer: I am not a native English speaker so I hope any faults, grammatically, may be forgiven.

I’m new to the skincare game and just started on Tretinoin and using various moisturizers, toners, peptides, serums to see what works. I’ve been pretty happy with the results though some will need surgery after I complete my weight loss journey - looking at you, Turkey neck!
One area where I’ve struggled is under my eyes. I can’t tell if I have bags, hollows, both, neither? What do you all think? How can I make it look better?
Thanks!

Has anyone done laser coring (ultraclear ) under eye? What were your results ? Did skin become too thin over time ?
Recommended by plastic surgeon as an option for skin tightening and wrinkles but it seems on the web some surgeons are against lasers

Any recommendations for crepey, sagging, doesn’t match my face neck creams. No matter what I do, my neck shows up sagging and dry in photos. Plus a double chin. I use the same products that I use on my face but it doesn’t make a difference. Face looks good, neck doesn’t. I’ve even stopped letting people photograph me.
Thanks!!

Hi all, 51 and I want to do a laser this fall. Last year I did a series of 3 vbeam for broken capillaries and redness and I was really happy with the results.
My issues are brown spotting from sun, still some capillaries and just general aging stuff. I still have pretty good texture. I do suffer from rosacea (under control) and I fought a long bout of perioral dermatitis earlier this year. I was thinking a series of 3 BBL. But at this point is that going to be enough bang for my buck? Should I do Halo or Moxi instead? I can provide a pic of my face if it helps
Thanks all

Hi there, as per the title, can anyone recommend a Dr for CO2 laser specifically under eyes to the lash line? I’m looking for someone who uses intraocular lenses for safety and fractional ablative. Thanks so much.

This is a Medicube sheet mask, and while it left my skin feeling amazing, is it supposed to fit like this? It was too short for my nose and did not cover around the sides of my nose or close up to my lips, and yet it covered right over my hairline! (please excuse the lack of eyebrows)

Bringing attention to this well reported NPR story about the Mazal Group - who are distributors of multiple lines of suspiciously marked up skincare in mall kiosks and stores. I’ve seen these places over the years with their aggressive sales tactics (these are the folks that will chase after you to put cream on your hands.)
I know many of us also have aging parents who can be susceptible to this type of marketing.
The skincare scheme that led to consumer complaints, lawsuits and a federal investigation

Would you buy a laser package at a place that offers different laser types and then they alternate based on skin issues? Or is it best to stick with one type?

Is GA + estrogen cream more effective or tret + estrogen.
Has anyone used all three at one time? Or is mixing up using tret and GA every other day the best way?
Right now I’m using 20% glycolic acid pad on my clean, dry face, let that dry then spread estrogen cream mixed in with moisturizer. I do this every night. Should I add in tret?
This is all information I’ve extracted from this sub and any and all mistakes or misunderstandings on the usage of products are mine and mine alone. 😊
Just looking for some guidance’/clarification. TIA!!!!!

Feel the need to add, definitely not a smoker. Just an expressive face. My trusted injector has given me the Botox lip flip a couple times and quite honestly it kind of stresses me out because I already have a low smile line and my smile looks pretty funky. She hasn't wanted to do filler in that area, but I have talked to some other providers who suggested some kind of light filler. I'm wondering if anyone else has come up with this and what worked for them in terms of filler I just hate to go behind her back and regret it since filler is kinda permanent.
