Mod Post - The Daily Megathread The Daily Megathread
Welcome to The Daily Megathread - r/50501's home for daily discussion!
This megathread exists so that you can post reactions, images, or anything that might otherwise belong on our sister subreddits r/ThePeoplesPress, r/LiveProtestUpdates or r/50501ContentCorner. While the main goal of this megathread is to prevent protest announcements from being drowned out, we also want to give our community a place where they can discuss things that would otherwise not be allowed as a post on r/50501.
Comments that may be appropriate for the daily megathread may include, but are not limited to:
- Discussing current US or world events
- Sharing personal opinions on politicians/political parties
- Other posts that may break the "Call to Action" rule or our rule on related content, which otherwise wouldn't fit at r/ThePeoplesPress, r/LiveProtestUpdates or r/50501ContentCorner
As a reminder, news threads go to r/ThePeoplesPress while videos go either to the People's Press or r/50501ContentCorner. Posts that are on the ground reporting on a protest must go to r/LiveProtestUpdates. If you have posted there, or if you want to share a post from another subreddit, you are welcome to link it here!
Remember that subreddit rules still apply, especially our commitment to respectful discourse and our commitment to citing our sources. If you claim something true, prove it - and don't attack the person behind the claim!
If you have a question about how our rules are enforced, please check out the wiki page on our rules for more information! For additional questions, please send us a modmail.

Poster/Chant Ideas Posters, Inflatables, Flags and Chants Megathread - No Kings: Get Out to Vote
Hi there!
This is the dedicated megathread for everything related to posters, signs, inflatables, flags, chants, and anything in relation to these. This space is where you can share off your posters on the main subreddit and where you can ask questions about, for example, what to put on your poster or if a certain word or sentence is appropriate for your poster or sign.
This space is meant to allow people to talk about their posters without having to make a dedicated post. With that in mind, images will be allowed here so that people don't have to, for example, go to r/50501ContentCorner to share their content.
This space will close this Monday at midnight. After that, you are free to make a dedicated post with your poster front and center.
Reddit TOS and subreddit rules still apply here.

Movement Brainstorm Organization worries
I’m frankly sick of how quiet everything in the USA is with all the bs going on, and I’m planning on attempting to get more people out and acting in my town. I’m planning on guerilla postering and creating educational zines, in an attempt to spread information to as many people as possible, and hopefully invite them to act. They could be left in areas like libraries, grocery stores, campuses, cafes, ect., and so it could reach a lot of people. (I’ve also been spreading information verbally, and I’m working on organizing protests). One of the main goals, besides educating people, would be for people to to take the zines and spread them, hopefully across the country (which Ik is insanely hopeful).
One of the problems is there’s only so much you can fit into the 8 pages of a zine, and so idk if I would be able to properly address everything that’s happening. Some of the things I was thinking of including were the hangings in the south, ICE, Flock/surveillance, Trump’s general impeding on rights, American lives in Arizona (?) being seen as “a price to pay” by Trump (about Iran threatening to strike Arizona), ect. Another worry is that people will not take them, and they therefore won’t spread (aka that hoping for them to spread across the country is simply hopeless).

Official 50501 Post At about 1:30 PM ET today, Meta froze and removed the main No Kings Coalition IG account. This happened during our national day of action. To Mark Zuckerberg, Meta, & the Trump regime: we see how afraid you are of losing power. Silencing us won’t stop what’s coming. Change is coming for all of you!
URGENT: Our No Kings Coalition Instagram has been taken down.
We need your help to spread the word. Tell them to RESTORE the account.

Mod Announcements Announcement regarding posts for today
Hello!
Happy No Kings: Get Out to Vote Day! We have over a thousand events scheduled throughout our country in towns and cities, big and small, and we cannot wait to see you there, wherever you may be.
If you want more information on a local No Kings: Get Out to Vote protest near you, check out our website or social media pages, content from our sister subreddits, and posts from our state accounts, or check out PolRev, The Big List of Protests, No Voice Unheard, Find A Protest, Protest Finder, Indivisible, or Mobilize.
In order to ensure that protest and event information can be easily found and in order to ensure that protest footage from the day and upcoming protest information can be found and shared easily, we will be strictly enforcing Rule 1: Call to Action. We've attached the entire rule for your convenience.
Unless your post is about a protest, it needs a specific call to action: protest here, protest on this date, donate to this strike fund, start this mutual aid initiative in your community, etc.
Your call to action should be immediately clear in your post title or in the body of the text, and not buried in a video, substack post, etc.
IF YOUR POST DOES NOT HAVE A SPECIFIC CALL TO ACTION, THEN IT WILL BE REMOVED.
We will be strictly enforcing C2A today until midnight tomorrow. All posts that do not follow C2A, which includes all news posts unrelated to specific protests and content relating to specific protests, will be removed, and you may be asked to post them to our sister subreddits at r/ThePeoplesPress or r/50501ContentCorner. If your post is about a specific protest, then it will likely remain up.
Pictures and videos from protests held on the 17th will be kept up unless they may break Rule 11: Cover or Blue Faces. If they do, we will remove them until you can blur identifying marks or faces. The removal reason will have a resource attached to assist you in doing so. We also recommend removing the EXIF/metadata where possible; however, this is not mandated.
If you believe your post follows C2A, however, it was taken down, please send us a modmail and we will sort it out with you.

Call to Action Peaceful protest planned in Missouri after sheriff’s deputy struck and killed 16-year-old girl. Family demands answers.
I previously posted here about the death of a 16-year-old girl who was struck and killed by a St. Francois County sheriff’s deputy in Missouri on October 3.
Her family was initially led to believe she had been killed in a hit-and-run involving an unknown driver. It wasn’t until October 5 that they were officially informed a deputy had struck her.
Since then, newly released dispatch audio has raised additional questions about the Sheriff’s Office’s account, including redacted communications and inconsistencies between the dispatch records and the sheriff’s statements.
The family has now announced a peaceful protest calling for answers and accountability.
PROTEST DETAILS
Sunday, October 18, 2026
2:00–4:00 p.m.
Farmington Courthouse, Farmington, Missouri
The announcement was shared publicly by the victim’s aunt, Kimberly Berger.
The deputy, identified by the family as Blake Cook, is reportedly STILL ON DUTY and has not even been placed on administrative leave pending the investigation. Local accounts indicate he has continued responding to calls.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol is investigating the crash, but significant questions remain about the Sheriff’s Office’s handling of the incident and why the family was initially given a different account.
I’m sharing this update because I want people who followed the original story to know about the protest and the family’s continuing efforts to get answers.
