This is one of the few horror movies I grew up watching that are genuinely unsettling. The grittiness of the Cabrini Green scenes really add to the tension throughout the film. And that theme by Philip Glass… so haunting, yet sublime.

Virginia and Tony did an amazing job in their roles. The ending always gets me. 😢

The ending is definitely shocking.

"They will say that I have shed innocent blood. What's blood for if not for shedding? With my hook for a hand, I'll split you from your groin to your gullet. I came for you."

Totally agree

" I am the writing on the wall, the whisper in the classroom. Without these things, I am nothing. So now, I must shed innocent blood. Come with me."

Candyman is the only horror franchise I can think of where the villain is actually sexy. Freddy? Jason? Nope. Candyman? Would.

I thought the hook was a dogs tail and I was like yup, I get why she's making that face. I woke up like that this morning

Immediately after the release of this they should have made the prequel showing the love story and the horrible ending of it that led to Candyman.
