Measurement Check Need sizing help, first time wearing a bra Spoiler
Hello! I’ve never worn a real bra before due to being autistic and struggling with sensory issues. I’ve kept to sports bras in guesstimates of sizes and baggy clothing to hide my shape.
I’m 24 now, and as I’ve gotten older I’ve become obsessed with fashion. I want to start wearing bras so I can be more confident in fitted tops and dresses.
I did the sizing test and I received a 32DD.
I used cm, in order it’s: 80 loose, 78 snug, 72.5 tight, 90 standing, 100 leaning, 91 lying. I’m not sure if these were done completely correctly as I found it quite hard to measure myself lol.
I’ve tried a wireless bra today in 32dd and it feels off but I’m not sure whether it’s just because it’s new to me. The band feels tight, you can see slight bulging on the skin but it’s not unbearable. the straps also felt tight but if I make them looser the whole bra loses shape, collapses on itself/ roles underneath bust and a lot of flesh bulges out under my arm.
is this normal or does it mean my band or cup is wrong? Or is this just what wireless bras are like? should I look into other types?
thank u

So, bra fitting is about both size and shape. It’s like how two people can have the same shoe size, but some shoes might be too wide for one person or too narrow for another. Many wireless bras are quite shallow (imagine a pasta bowl) while your measurements indicate you’re likely at least moderately projected (imagine a soup or cereal bowl). Can you tell us exactly which wireless bra you tried? We might be able to speak to how that bra fits.
