Question Butterflies everywhere today
Admittedly I dont get put much - but it looks like every single butterfly in Adelaide has hatched today! Anyone else seeing swarms of them?
Or is this a normal thing ATM and I've just been living under a rock?

I've seen a lot of caper whites around. They migrate here, so very nice to see them visit yet again.

In addition to the warmer weather and springtime, the white butterflies with more black on them (Caper white butterflies), have commenced their usual migration.

I noticed this today too - way more than usual! So many dragonflies too but itβs a wonderful sign. More butterflies = signs of a healthy environment. π¦

I went swimming at Grange this morning and it was surreal to have them fluttering all around over the water!

I've noticed that too, I thought I was just seeing more because I was looking for them. It's really nice to see

Pretty normal for spring, at least for my area. Finally getting warmer weather, flowers are everywhere, bees are swarming, butterflies and moths are all over.

I thought they were mating when I saw them today. Kept chasing after each other.

We just came back from a cruise on the Esplanade, and there was a silly amount of them.
So many flutterby's.

We've had a wet winter and now with the warm weather it's perfect hatching conditions for them and yes as others have mentioned it's the caper whites migrating! How special is it! ππ

It's also (or getting really close to) time for the citrus gall wasps to emerge.
So keep an eye on your citrus too.
