Press secretary with a hilariously short tenure in the Trump 1.0 white house.
He was still there for 3x as long as the new press secretary that was just fired.

If I recall correctly he was Communications Director, not Press Secretary. You may be thinking of Sean Spicer who was the first press secretary and was sent out to lie about the size of the inauguration audience on day 1, destroying his credibility before he could build any. As I recall he didn’t last long either. Looked it up - 6 months.

Much. As a scientist, too many significant figures is a trigger for lack of understanding of data.

Spicer going into the bush to avoid the press at the end was truly something else. We watched that man break down over time, and it was in fact hilarious because it was a disaster of his own making

Scaramuccie was a different White House Press Secretary from Trump 1.0. He lasted 11 days in the position that normally did not have much turnover in terms of personnel and often stayed for roughly two years each.
Over 2 terms Obama had 3, Bush had 4, Clinton had 4, and Biden had 2 over his single term. Trump 1.0 had 4 and now 2.0 has had 2. He has been through 6 of them now more than any other president.

He was Communications Director. Spicer was the Press Secretary.

Anthony Scaramucci was hired as Communications Director in Trump’s first term, but only lasted 11 days before being fired (https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-40684697).
His short tenure became a sort of meme among the political Internet, where an 11 day period became known as a “Scaramucci” or a “Mooch.”
Katie Zacharia was named White House Press Secretary earlier this week, but only made it 5 days before being sacked. Her laughably short tenure is now being compared to Scaramucci’s, having only made it 0.45 Mooches.

Thank you. Another question: what does lettuce have to do with it?
9
8
u/fender_bender16 10h ago
lol as others have said, that has to do with British politics, namely British Prime Minister Liz Truss whose shaky grip on power was compared to the shelf life of a head of lettuce. She resigned after 49 days, prior to the head of lettuce spoiling.
Short wiki piece here if you want more info: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liz_Truss_lettuce

Just us Yanks making fun of the orange man's latest press secretary only lasting 5 days.

u/pimento_mori 1h ago
I’m American and this was my first thought, too. I feel especially out of the loop as I’ve left all other social media. If it doesn’t make it way to my Reddit feed, I won’t know about it.

u/donginandton 1h ago
Not sure if that gives you the best of the news or a very skewed version of it. Either way it's probably more reliable than the rubbish from the likes of Facebook and twatter etc!

Takes less time to google this question than post it as a meme. The meme only makes sense if there is a reason someone isn’t asking what it means.

Sometimes people like to hear from others rather than google or AI, take away your unnecessary call out for asking and this post is exactly why we are here, human engamenent, you may need to touch some grass.
-3
u/urnbabyurn 1d ago
It’s lazy. You don’t get anything from hearing from others on a simple, straightforward question like “who is Scarmucci”. I can see if it’s asking about a recipe for Mac and cheese or whether It’s worth watching game of thrones, but asking “who is X” is like posting on reddit asking for driving directions.

So you don't ask any human beings questions through your day anymore because you could just ask your phone?
1
u/socokid 1d ago
100%
LOL what?
My iPhone will have the answer in just a few seconds. Why would I ask a real person to answer something they may not know about, when I know google will, instantly?
Never mind taking the time to write out the question at Reddit and then sitting and waiting for answers from random strangers. That would be a ridiculous waste of time and the answers could be insane.

Are you being horribly wrong on purpose as some kind of joke?
Being a dick to someone, while giving a wrong explanation, is admittedly very funny.

1 Scaramucci is 11 days, or 0.25 Trusses.
