Fuck ICE

We’re a small community so I don’t expect this to make a big impact, but I firmly believe nowhere on the internet should be safe for these goons to find relaxation. Fuck those clowns, love your neighbors, and stay bitter toward fascism. Love you from the r/amaro gang.

Agree to disagree. Pro-ice, anti-ICE.

Hate all you want, I know what I like!

But FUCK ICE

6

u/GratefulDawg73 Jan 31 '26

I like it bitter and neat. Fuck ICE.

24

u/hhooggaarr Jan 31 '26

Keep America neat. No ice.

u/Rudeboy237 Jan 31 '26

Pour some for the folks putting bodies on the line. Fuck nazi scum republicans and the ICE slave catcher gangs.

90

u/squales_ Jan 31 '26

Not even the best Amaro can help me stomach ICE’s bullshit. Well posted man!

9

u/fuckboyflorist Feb 01 '26

Fernet on rocks. ICE kick rocks

50

u/arm2610 Jan 31 '26

The only ice I like is the kind I pour my Cynar 70 over with a lemon wedge

18

u/TheCanisDIrus Jan 31 '26

Ok I need to try this. I’ve always drank it neat but chilled and with a bit of lemon sounds delicious!

27

u/TheCanisDIrus Jan 31 '26

Oh and fuck ICE

9

u/arm2610 Feb 01 '26

Oh yeah it’s delicious! I like drinking Cynar 70 this way because it’s a bit less syrupy than regular Cynar and because of the higher alcohol it doesn’t suffer as much from being a bit watered down. The lemon gives it a little brightness. This is probably my favorite amaro and favorite way to drink it.

Honestly love this. I live in Minneapolis and protest when I can.

It may feel trivial, but the support from random places has actually been incredibly heartwarming.

And if people try to say that this is not the point of this subreddit; you are wrong.

so I travel a fair bit and can certainly navigate my ass through an airport; but man, I asked a fellow in MSP “how far to the car rental?” not like “I’m clueless where’s the car rental?” just how far? and this saint among sinners insists on escorting me like 150 yards, past 2 decision points🫡. Fucking people from Minnesota are some of the nicest, selfless folks you will ever meet on this godforsaken planet!

8

u/Chef-gordonramsey Feb 01 '26

I actually heated up my amaro (hot toddy riff) tonight. Anti ICE all around

5

u/13senilefelines31 Feb 01 '26

I love hot toddies, why have I never thought to try this before?! And fuck ICE all day, every day.

3

u/pdxmhrn Feb 01 '26

Amaro Caldo?

17

u/Wizardbysmell Feb 01 '26

Occasionally it’s appropriate to make sure you have crushed ICE..

80

u/Maaaaaaaatttt Jan 31 '26

For the people who see this post and bleat, “Can we just have amaro without politics?”

No.

It’s time to be a fucking adult. Grow up.

Americans are being kidnapped and murdered on our streets by goons building concentration camps. The goons claim a little “office memo” stands above our almighty Constitution. Nope.

That alone should make us all speak out. Conservatives should be leading the pack.

Speaking out is the literal minimum every American should do.

And fuck any traitor who tries to say you shouldn’t exercise your free speech whenever you goddamn please.

If you want to do more, hit the streets with your fellow Americans and call Congress and remind them they are 100% equal power to the president. Then ask them why they’re not doing more.

Ultimately, the moderate approach—moderate—is we take back this amazing but imperfect country to rebuild and hold trials for everyone who broke the Constitution.

And for anyone who still wants to be a whiny little beta cuck watching their country get plowed by a group of armed men? That’s your choice, I guess.

But shut the fuck up while grown folks are talking and enjoy the safety and democracy that real Americans have generously have given you pussies for generations.

12

u/allthecats Feb 01 '26

By its nature amaro is an in-betweener, assimilated, appropriated, honorable, memorial - of the people and brought by its people across borders throughout history. To fully appreciate amaro one must be anti-ICE and all it stands for.

15

u/hhooggaarr Jan 31 '26

Word. Silence is complicity.

-8

u/Dull-Communication50 Jan 31 '26

We arent all americans though you know there are other countries in the world

16

u/warmwaterpenguin Jan 31 '26

Quite, but it's a bit pedantic to say when it's not the point and you aren't arguing against the core premise of the thread. Are you?

19

u/zymurgtechnician Feb 01 '26

America also isn’t the only country with an authoritarian problem these days.

6

u/warmwaterpenguin Feb 01 '26

Yep, that's sure as shit too.

-2

u/Dull-Communication50 Feb 01 '26

I am interested in Amaro. I could post 100 issues all over the world on here. If there is an ICE reddit (im sure there is) would it be ok for me to post Amaro pics and reccomendations there?

-5

u/[deleted] Feb 01 '26

And ICE is trying to deport them and these idiots what to keep all the Somali scammers.

17

u/johnb0z Jan 31 '26

Hell yeah… fuck ICE, drink amaro. And if you live in a country that’s not the USA and you ever want to travel here, it’s in your best interest to say fuck ICE as well.

22

u/Oxolomew Jan 31 '26

Thank you!!! 💜 A Minneapolis Amaro Lover

Love Amaro hate ICE

25

u/ciccio_started_it Jan 31 '26

I’ll be honest, this thread here in this little of corner of Reddit warmed my heart today. Part of my horror these past few weeks in watching what’s been happening in Minnesota has been the idea that a healthy number of Americans are totally onboard with what’s been going on. Seeing this thread and the positive reaction to it gives me hope that most, including the many many many who voted for Trump even the second time around, are not cool with where things are headed.

Full disclosure: I’ve never liked Trump, and his second term antagonism towards my country 🇨🇦 has only deepened my dislike for him. But, despite all that, I still could understand why people would support him, I could look beyond my own biases and understand his appeal… but how anyone, no matter where they stand on immigration, could abide what ICE has been doing is beyond me.

9

u/PK_Rippner Feb 01 '26

If you can be anything, be subversive against these fascist bastards. Slow them down with bogged down non-compliance and false leads.

19

u/jasonj1908 Feb 01 '26

I'm glad to see it from this community. Silence is complicity. I'm in a Tequila group on Facebook and I was shocked at all the pro-ICE and anti-immigrant rhetoric and sentiment on there. You're drinking a fucking spirit made in Mexico and you don't give a shit about how people are treated? No thanks.

Anyone here have any scaffa cocktail recipes?

I’ll take my street neat.

21

u/dosmns Jan 31 '26

You should also use some of this energy on genocide israel. You know, the ones who’ve slaughtered and maimed tens of thousands of children, and who train ICE on all their tactics. None of this is happening in isolation. What you’re ok with happening abroad eventually comes back to bite you at home.

30

u/ouchouchdangit Jan 31 '26 edited Jan 31 '26

I agree and I do. I also think it’s more likely that ICE agents lurk here than the Israeli military (though I could be wrong), and it’s important that they know they aren’t welcome here.

25

u/Marxesque Jan 31 '26

why the hell are you getting downvoted? Fuck ICE and fuck Israel.

-9

u/Coin247 Feb 01 '26

Nah I love Israel as I support indigenous people worldwide. There is no genocide, just people like you who use the term as slander, with no basis. Shame on you.

Israel is a great country that has contributed much to the world in the form of technology, science, medicine, etc.

It is a country where its citizens, Muslim, Jewish, Christian, etc, enjoy the same rights, even though ignorant people like you will claim apartheid.

You have no basis for your slurs. Go ahead and prove me wrong.

2

u/therealtwomartinis Feb 02 '26

scaffa until we see peace again!

2

u/johanlenox Feb 21 '26

honestly surprised at how unified the response here is, i bet this would've gotten deleted in the bourbon subreddit lol

0

u/saltyisthesauce Jan 31 '26

What’s ice?

8

u/zymurgtechnician Jan 31 '26

A modern day Gestapo type “law enforcement” agency being wielded by americas president. They are masked thugs, lacking any identification, roaming the streets of American cities in unmarked cars killing our citizens in broad daylight, and ignoring the laws and founding documents of our nation with impunity.

All under the guise of “immigration enforcement”. They are busting into people houses without warrants, and detaining citizens because of the color of their skin, or having an accent, even when provided with paperwork to prove citizenship.

They are now so well funded if they were a separate nation they would be better funded than all but the 16 countries militaries on the planet.

5

u/saltyisthesauce Jan 31 '26

Oh yea I saw them in the news over here, don’t really know what it’s all about but the short clip I saw they didn’t look like they had much training

2

u/13senilefelines31 Feb 01 '26

They don’t get much training, just 47 days before they’re unleashed unto the public.

0

u/SuperintelligentBlue Feb 03 '26

“Fascism”

1

u/Cherioux Jun 18 '26

He has no idea what that word even means

-10

u/RookieRecurve Feb 01 '26

As a Canadian observing what is happening, I cannot imagine defending illegal aliens that are being deported because they have committed crimes in the country that they entered illegally. As for the two people who got themselves killed, that was a case of FAFO. You cannot behave recklessly against armed authorities, and expect it to end well. I say fuck criminals from foreign countries, and fuck stupid people. I wouldn't want either as my neighbor.

Now, back to enjoying some nice homemade Amari!

14

u/ouchouchdangit Feb 01 '26

Man, this is sad to see from you. Especially because you’re operating on terrible information. No one is saying don’t deport people who are committing crimes domestically. But those people make up so few of the targets compared to how many American citizens are being detained for just LOOKING like they’re from another country. And as far as FAFO, that’s so insane and cruel to say. A group of agents subdued a man and then still shot him dead. They’re ramming the cars of people who are parked on the side of the street filming them. I don’t know what news you follow, but it is fully detached from reality.

-147

Can we just enjoy a hobby or interest without the garbage of politics infiltrating everything? Pour some amaro post your politics elsewhere.

78

u/luckyshot98 Jan 31 '26

I work in a bar that heavily features Amaro. We won't have a lot of what we sell and drink available if this shit keeps escalating. Everything is political.

14

u/Deep_Ad_6991 Jan 31 '26

No. Go bury your head in the sand if you want but don’t expect others to do the same.

55

u/ThatSmokyBeat Jan 31 '26

Translation: "I want to enjoy a community without knowing that most of its members think my political beliefs are awful."

25

u/Electrical-Arrival57 Jan 31 '26

We are way, WAY beyond “politics” here, citizen. “Politics” is “I think the rich should/shouldn’t be taxed at a higher rate” or “I think farm subsidies are too much/not enough” or “we should/shouldn’t be working toward independence from fossil fuels.” THAT’s “politics.” Masked, untrained, murderous goons murdering American citizens on their streets with the full approval of the executive branch should be abhorrent to any alleged “real American” and should be a reason to shun and shame anyone else who approves of it. Fascism should never be a valid “political” stance in a constitutional democracy.

41

u/minnesota2194 Jan 31 '26

I have such mixed feelings on your comment. I totally get it buddy, it gets exhausting. But on the flip side, we are in scary uncertain times and maybe that means we try to sway minds wherever we can. But I hear you on that. But also fuck ice. Now let's all go raise a glass of our favorite Amaro and toast to a better tomorrow

15

u/zymurgtechnician Jan 31 '26 edited Jan 31 '26

I heard it put well the other day, partisan politics does not need to invade every space. Partisan politics is a team sport, and has been wrongfully equated with the broad nature of politics in general. Life itself is political in nature. There is no facet of our life, or our environment, that is not enchanced, restricted, shaped, impacted, suppressed or changed in some way by politics.

It is a cop out of our duties and responsibilities as citizens to pretend like we can ignore politics because we don’t like them as though it were the same as saying “I don’t like sports”. Many people in the last few decades have been privileged enough that they could ignore politics, not vote, not have an opinion, and their life got on pretty well.

Well those days are gone, in no small part because of those who chose to be oblivious. Inaction is a choice, silence is complicity, ignorance is inexcusable. We do not get to sit out politics, in the same way as we do not get to sit out life.

Just because some of us may ignore politics, doesn’t change the fact that their lives are shaped by it. Unfortunately sometimes people’s lives are needlessly ended because of it. We must all be adults and take a stand, use our voice, and participate in our democracies in every way we can, or we are all at risk of losing everything.

22

u/Brian_Lefebvre Jan 31 '26

“Garbage of politics,” “your politics”

I’m so sorry our politics are so irritating to you.

49

u/Rudeboy237 Jan 31 '26

No. You can't. Nazis have taken over. People are being shot in the streets for doing the work that you won't. I'm sorry your precious little hobby can't remain without "the garbage of politics infiltrating" it, but maybe it'll wake you up to the fact that EVERYTHING is political, and some people, in fact most people on this planet don't have the luxury of ignoring it.

27

u/SpiralMantis113 Jan 31 '26

You should probably take this as a sign of just how bad the situation is in your country. If you go too far down the road that you are asking for you will end up with the sort of depoliticised population that Putin has nurtured in Russia - "As long as what the government does isn't directly affecting me personally, then I don't want to think about or acknowledge it." You have to confront these issues early and confront them hard or you will be lost.

27

u/aooot Jan 31 '26

If ICE wasn't such fucking dipshits maybe people wouldn't feel obligated to announce it so far and wide.

15

u/FirstChurchOfBrutus Jan 31 '26

I guess the line doesn’t exist for you.

13

u/Odeeum Jan 31 '26

Politics is life. If you are fortunate enough that it doesnt impact your daily life, well...think of those that it absolutely does.

6

u/Duseylicious Feb 01 '26 edited Feb 01 '26

I get the desire to have a place where we don’t want to be overwhelmed with politics. I really do, but it’s just as important to know that online spaces where you want to go just to are actually safe places without Nazis crawling around in them. I don’t think we need to post about it every day, but one post confirming that this is a place that won’t cater to horrible people is worthwhile.

-33

u/ModernistDinosaur Jan 31 '26

(Welcome to the leftist echo chamber that is reddit.) 🥳

14

u/Rudeboy237 Feb 01 '26

lmao "Leftist echo chamber" of not wanting nazis in our streets.

-5

u/ModernistDinosaur Feb 01 '26

I forgot about nazis. Thank you. 🙏

13

u/ciccio_started_it Jan 31 '26

Not a leftist, I’m actually pretty right wing and I support the need for stronger immigration laws in my country. As a non leftist I’m just not a fan of watching gangs of masked men roaming the streets with guns terrorizing people.

2

u/ModernistDinosaur Jan 31 '26

Agreed. I think we would have a nice conversation.

3

u/JurplePesus Jan 31 '26

Lol huff farts losers. Face reality and acknowledge that what's happening is wrong and should stop, it's easy for everyone else - why's it so hard for you?

-5

u/ModernistDinosaur Feb 01 '26

Fart-infused fernet? You're on. 😘

3

u/JurplePesus Feb 02 '26

"yeah well actually I like the taste of farts" oh no I've been owned, the guy who votes for pedophiles has owned me lol
