Hi everyone,

Bri's previous owner recently retired and could no longer care for some of her dogs. He initially wanted to surrender her two Beagles to one of our partner shelters.

However, when I saw a video of the dogs, I noticed a little Chihuahua inside a tiny cage. 💔 Bri was not originally one of the dogs being put up for adoption, but seeing her in such a small cage broke my heart.

I immediately asked if we could take her instead, and I agreed that our foundation would take full responsibility for her care.

Yesterday, we noticed that Bri's urine was unusually dark and appeared to contain blood, so we immediately brought her to the veterinary clinic.

Sadly, Bri was diagnosed with a urinary tract infection (UTI), heartworm disease, Babesia, and Ehrlichia. 💔

To be honest, I feel angry and heartbroken. From what I saw, I cannot help but feel that Bri has experienced neglect. She was kept in a cage outside the house, and we have no idea how long she may have been suffering from these illnesses without receiving the medical attention she needed.

The veterinarian also advised that if her symptoms persist, she may require further cardiac assessment.

It breaks my heart to think about how much this tiny girl has already endured. She deserves so much better than spending her life confined in a small cage while silently suffering.

Our foundation has committed to giving Bri the veterinary care, treatment, and love she deserves. ❤️

As a small registered nonprofit caring for rescued animals in the Philippines, taking on another medically complicated case is challenging, but I simply could not turn my back on her.

On August 30, Officer Trenton Garner fatally shot and killed one-year-old baby donkey HeeHaw during an investigation. Though he claims HeeHaw rushed at him, video evidence and testimony from those who knew him say that he was nothing but a docile and curious animal.

As it stands Trenton Garner, HeeHaw's murderer, has faced no disciplinary action. Rather he has been placed on administrative leave while the Police Station maintain that they are not liable for HeeHaw's death.

Dear friends and animal lovers,

We are writing this with heavy hearts, but also with a glimmer of hope that only exists because of a miracle dog named Kannu.

Kannu is a gentle stray dog who met with a horrific accident 15 days ago. She was run over by a car, and the impact completely shattered both of her hind legs and her pelvis. The trauma was so severe that sharp shards of her own broken bones were actively crushing into her internal organs. She couldn’t stand or sit.

When we rushed her to the emergency clinics, multiple doctors looked at her X-rays and gave up on her saying that there was nothing they could do and we might have to put her down considering her current situation as she would have no quality of life since she can't stand or sit, so her daily life functions like pee or poop wouldn't be possible.

We kept looking until we found one hospital that saw her and agreed to operate.

Kannu underwent extensive, complex orthopedic surgery. The veterinary surgeons had to meticulously place plates, rods, and structural wires into her body to piece her skeleton back together and protect her internal organs. She is a true warrior. Right now, she is undergoing intensive physiotherapy and laser/radiotherapy sessions every day just to learn how to exist without pain.

Because of the massive damage to her pelvis and legs, Kannu will never be able to live a normal life on the streets again. Releasing her back to her territory would be a death sentence. Once she heals, we are dedicated to finding her a loving forever home where she can be safe.

While we have managed to clear about ₹13,000 for her initial emergency visits, the current hospital bill for these life-saving surgeries and her ongoing, intensive post-operative care has jumped to ₹2,24,275.

We are completely overwhelmed and helpless. We stretched every resource we had to give Kannu a second chance at life, but we cannot cover this massive amount on our own. We desperately need your help to clear her medical bills so the hospital can continue providing the therapy she needs to walk again.

Every single contribution, no matter how small, goes directly to Kannu’s medical care. If you cannot donate, please consider sharing her story. Kannu fought through the worst pain a living being could endure, and she didn't give up. Please don't let us fail her now.
