he's actually super rich, Soul society is paying him a monthly captain salary (12k dollars) they just depositing into an account so when he dies and comes to soul society he can cash in (don't think about it lol, just accept it)

His cash is in the soul society, Kubo revealed in a Q&A that Soul Reapers make absolute bank (around 12k Dollars per mission if i remember correctly) and by joining the soul reapers, ichigo had an account automatically made for him with money constantly deposited every mission and major event, so when ichigo mortal body finally dies, and he properly joins the soul society, he’ll get full access to his soul society account and end up absolutely loaded
