I’m sure he hit his term long ago.
With beards they only grow to a certain length then they just stop growing. It’s called a term, and every guy’s beard term is different.

I always assumed that because every hair follicle has a limited lifespan (2-7 years says the Internet) then it dies and falls out and is replaced, each strand of hair is effectively limited to the length it can grow in the lifespan of the follicle. So that effectively limits the length of your beard and the hair on your head. But I’m admittedly neither a biologist nor a cosmetologist.
