Conspiracy theories

I recently had a really disturbing conversation with someone I know, and I’m wondering if anyone else has been hearing this particular strain of antisemitic/conspiracy rhetoric lately.

She argued that the Bible proves Jewish people harmed and sacrificed their own children “many, many times,” citing passages about people in ancient Judah sacrificing children to Molech/Baal. When I pointed out that those passages are explicitly condemning the practice and are about specific people in an ancient historical context, not Jewish people generally, she insisted I was being “obtuse” or naive.

She then jumped from those biblical passages to claiming that this is still happening today, connecting it to Hollywood, politicians, the Epstein files, and the idea that powerful people are continuing some kind of child-sacrifice practice.

This came during a larger conversation in which she was also repeating claims about Jews sexually abusing and even eating their children and appeared to be minimizing or defending Hitler by suggesting I was ignorant for condemning him and rejecting those accusations.

What really struck me was the combination: ancient biblical child-sacrifice passages + accusations about Jewish abuse of children + Hollywood/political elites + Epstein + the suggestion that these practices continue today. It feels like a mash-up of very old antisemitic blood-libel ideas with modern conspiracy theories.

Has anyone else encountered this strange combination of claims recently? Is this circulating in a particular online conspiracy community? I’m genuinely curious where people are getting it, because it was completely surreal to hear from someone I actually know, especially someone who knows that I’m Jewish and still felt comfortable saying these things to me.
