Well Astaroth is again cute :D Anyway for now we are still in unknow what will happen to Angel but I love that we had chapter with Shiemi and Izumo. Oh look who is back :D And that hero moment for Rin was so cool. Awesome chapter, I wonder what the full deal with Amaimon will end as.

I'm only worring about Yukio. And of course lead color was amazing^

During the timeskip, we see Astaroth and Amaimon's familiars with Rin; given the situation, I don't think that bodes well for Shiemi.

Since she is two years older than the others and the timeskip spans two years, it's possible she has fallen unconscious, been sealed away, put into stasis, or something similar.

On the other hand, I'm not sure what Yukio will do for the rest of the arc, or if he'll play a role at all, though the fact that he was left alone does worry me.

Lucifer will likely take possession of Angel; it's even possible that the figure seen during the timeskip was actually him possessing Angel and leading the Order.

In any case, I'm uneasy about how the arc's final act will play out, because a Lucifer possessing Angel's body is going to be terrifying.

Yeah it looks like we've read that timeskip wrong :D Someone as well pointed that Rin was hunting Angelic corp. So it is possible that everyone in that future work to catch that bastard( someone as well pointed out that Angel has bird on his clothes that has Lucifer like feather and well the cape he has on is more like in Lucifer style than Angel ). He as well probably hides better than current demons as everyone would notice it is not Angel. Of course we can end with totally different future but we will see. I loved as well one theory that Shima is spying on Angel :D It would work for him and his chaos personality.

Maybe he will see what will happen with Lucifer as he is now slowed down.

I hadn't thought of that; it’s certainly plausible, given that he’s still on the sidelines of the fight.

As for the timeskip, I’m really looking forward to it and seeing how Kato handles the characters. Judging by the pace of the current arc, we’ve still got a while to go; back in July, I used to think it would wrap up in December or January, but now I get the feeling there are at least six or seven chapters left, and maybe even more, like ten for example.

Shima, still as a spy in the timeskip, would be hilarious thought.

It all depends where her last chapter is planned to be and what is before it. That something no one knows beside her and people that work in her team. Anyway we will have a really big end of the year.

Haha I actually pointed out something was up with the girl Rin was fighting years ago when that chapter first came out. Her name being that of a Angel had warning lights go off in my head, and I suspected something more was going on with what we were shown. It didn't fit right to have a character with such a obvious Angel name, that we know are also demons, be on the order side. Sure she looked human, but something was up and it was clear it wasn't a "Rin's gone bad" Situation a lot of people seemed to think it was lol.

The full Rin is evill as well was going against themes, his development and would go and prove everyone right :D Beside why would he turn evill? If someone close to him died the fault would be on Lucifer. And again he killed only her not other exorcists. Beside that Order was clearly bad there, they turned totalitarian and took power by fear. The way they treated Paku as well was clearly wrong. So all of that was really suspicious especially that because of Blue Night we know how easy Order can get corrupted. Good people that got power after Blue Night were the ones making it work like with Shiemi mom that had a lot more empathy than previous Shemihaza( probably because she took care of Shiemi after her trauma ). And then there is Jeremiah that is clearly a seed of that corruption already planted. The full theory about evill Rin always felt for me like a bit too edgy :D

And yeah you pointed something I didn't notice :D She as well sounded weird and like part of cult when talking. But the thing is that people as well forgets that in that future everyone can see demons so they would hide way more trying to look human. I still think we are getting different future as it is not set in stone but we will see.

Looking at it now, the way everything was handled in the time skip it's obviously more connected to Lucifer. The military and totalitarian aspect, forcing anyone with a connection to demons to be a solider. The stripping of the whimsy from True Cross, yeah it's painfully obvious now. It's really neat how the foreshadowing was like right in our face lol.

But yeah something was up with her, I didn't trust the framing of Rin is evil now, especially with what we know about angels.

Seeing Astaroth on the cover spread with the allies feels so wild to me given how we are introduced to him over a decade ago.

Curious to see what happens if Amaimon gets his full power back. And with Shiemi supposedly hearing Satan's thoughts and the ghost child makes me think that they are going to take another option then what they were trying to do in this chapter.

What an intense chapter!

That was worth waiting for! So much movement. The battle has certainly advanced. Shiemi’s ploy to re-ally with Amaimon was a gutsy surprise move I did not see coming. I find myself worried for Mephisto and for Yukio. Cheering when Rin arrived to the rescue. Shiemi’s sympathy for the devil is similar to Rin’s. I really wonder whether Satan v Lucifer is a possibility now.

It’s one of those few instances where I cannot seem to figure out what is going on in my baby boy Yukio’s head.

I think though there are two things going on in his head: 1, he is bracing himself for death and 2 he has a plan for something…likely something that could get him killed— and he obviously doesn’t want Rin to know about it. But this is what I am thinking…

Will he die though? No I don’t believe so, since I think if Kato still wants to aim for the coexistence theme both Rin and Yukio would be necessary for that. Plus, the way Yukio has been positioned, he still has very close ties to Paladins written in his storyline..he was after all only trained by Shiro. So I still entertain the possibility of him potentially becoming a future Paladin. [ I could always be wrong though ]

I also think it’s possible that Yukio may somehow be dragged down into Gehenna.. and that leads Rin into descending into Gehenna.

I don't think so. Because sheimi is the HUMAN for Rin now. Sheimi loves demon - Rin loves human - the cycle completes. Yukio seems to be getting redundant in the story.  I think yukio is still very unfit for paladin because paladins are somebody who doesn't kill demons aimlessly but act as shield against demons that wanna harm humans. Plus it will be weird if kato wrote something that anime original ending showed.  Yes! I want yukio to go to gehena, talk heart to heart with satan! Yes then rin too! I have a feeling if anyone goes to gehena they will meet yuri! Overall leaving Yukio behind ALONE was a terrible idea!

I've a theory. Yukio was a stillborn but Rin then used his fire to save him. Is there a possibility that Yukio's soul exists in gehena and body in assiah?

6

u/AdministrativeFilm12 16d ago

Actually, Shiemi, Rin and Yukio are all Nephilim. Let alone Paladins in the anime and manga do kill and hunt demons.

In fact, in one of the arcs Yuri lectures and scolds Shiro for killing demons blindly.

I still think, it’s possible, that Rin will be positioned to become one of the demon kings, and Yukio eventually positioned to become a Paladin. Especially because Yukio still has a reputation within the True Cross Order.

But given what has transpired between Section 13, and the Illuminati— I think Yukio’s character will eventually evolve to the point where he becomes more grey with demons and humans, the Vatican and Gehenna as well.

He is already written as an anti-hero but not a villain. Meaning his lore and arcs may continue to further expand into the grey…and it would fit into the complexity of his character and evolution within Blue Exorcist.

I understand, but still I don't find yukio to be suitable as paladin.  Only person I see to be in that position is Lightning! And subsequently bon.

Yukio's growth is at hault . He is still not self accepting - thinks he is not half demon or demons are to be hated. His cold demeanor is still under surface. As of now Order considers him as traitor because of the illuminati stunt. So that's a major setback. Yukio also hate Order now. Besides it would be pretty predictable thinking rin would be demon king n yukio would be paladin - the quality of writing will feel dull.  I like how katou maintained the fact yukio is human instead of giving him obvious demon powers. So I'm expecting some unpredictable plot.  I don't think yukio will die, because katou never fails to surprise . She never let others predict fully.  I love yukio, but he needs to understand a lot - specifically demon hate. Dude gotta get a chill. He has lost childhood, he shouldn't lose his teens or even adulthood to those crappy Order.

It's fine opinions may not match, but we can still enjoy a show n it's character together ✌

I actually share your theory about Yukio’s stillbirth and the implications surrounding it! I think Yukio’s demon heart has been stuck somewhere in Gehenna his entire life while his physical body exists separately in Assiah.

We know Yukio’s left eye is a window to Gehenna, so I suspect baby Rin’s flame was able to travel through Yukio’s eye to restart his heart in Gehenna, reviving Yukio’s human body in the process.

What really sold me on Yukio having a demon heart was what Shiemi’s grandmother said on the Blue Night about needing to nurture both twins until the exorcists found the proper method to exorcise them. Even after Rin’s demon heart was sealed in Kurikara, the Order couldn’t execute him in his human form because the mere existence of his demon heart in Gehenna meant that he would continue regenerating no matter how many times they killed him in Assiah. That begs the question… if Yukio was only a human, then why wouldn’t Shiemihaza have ordered his execution on the spot while only taking baby Rin into custody? Unless there was a reason Shiemihaza knew killing Yukio wouldn’t work…. The math ain’t mathing imo.

I predict that Yukio will not unlock his full potential and demon powers until he sees the past and fully accepts the reality that he is half-demon like Rin, and more importantly, that he could use those powers to do good things for the world. I definitely don’t think Yukio’s mentally and emotionally there yet considering how uncomfortable he was even owning up to his blue flame resistance. It’ll be interesting to see how it pans out!

Edit: realized I commented under the wrong person lol

Excellent analysis!!. Katou's writing is very clever. The unknown twin pregnancy, cradle barrier breaking after Rin's birth, still birth, the masshou everything making us feel yukio is human- then suddenly saying he is immune to blue flames- the strongest flame of gehena! His left eye is window to gehena, yukio's evil side started to show.  Like they said - yukio didn't inherit flames because he was fragile yet he developed resistance! Like make it make sense. Katou sometimes make us think he is human sometimes he is demon so it's a ride for me. Not to mention psycho yukio is more evil than demons.  I personally think he has some kind of anti demon power, like that of asta from black clover . Writer intends to keep him human. But let's see. I hope yukio get to talk with satan n excepts his parentage. Bro is in severe self destructive self denial

Well Amaimon will be freed.. We have Rin that wanted to talk with Satan and Shiemi that thinks there's a good side to him so I really wonder how that will play. Guessing Lucifer will be the final villain after all.

u/azathothweirdo 16d ago

Ah man, those death flags for Shiemi sure are getting stronger with this chapter's first page. But really fun one. Glad to see Izumo get some work in here after so long. And it's really interesting how she's starting to look a lot more like her mother the more she opens up to people. Neat little detail there.

Lol you had to drop it looooooong time ago by you thinking Mephisto is a bad guy. Like we already have main antagonist for like a long time. Spoiler It's Lucifer and his plan is what we are seeing now and what was foreshadowed. Oh Kato catched you by that red herring with scary Mephy :D

Beside Satan is immature but he is not stupid and is a pretty complex character.

All of Order went with it. It was that or Assiah's destruction. And again you are not reading it because no he is not. As you hate this manga I won't hide spoilers. In current time Satan is pretty much just his heart and he died during sealing that Shemihaza and Mephisto did. Lucifer let him die because he is using him to his own plan. He as well used Egyn to make elixir and Iblis and Astaroth to "help their father" all to get to Angel. Angel was pretty much prepered to be his next body without even knowing by Jeremiah brainwashing that happened all the way when he survived Lucifer's light in Blue Night. By this point we don't know what he wants with Satan's heart but he wanted it to be open up. Oh and Blue Night in part happened because of him.

Mephisto on the other hand just did everything no matter how bad to let Assiah to exist. He has no problem using people for that but he as well loves material world and humanity for its chaos. In this moment he is still working with Shiemi to seal Satan. By future chapters we as well know that nothing like what you said happened :D Satan's heart by that point, 2 years in the future was still active.

And yeah Mephy is a pet character lol

Person blocked me for some reason. So I will response here. If you hate this manga so much why you even come here? Beside wanting story to go into the most obvious direction is not what good writting means. And again you are not catch up so no you don't know current story. Anyway still thank you because that discussion made me think about interesting theory about what Lucifer wants with Satan's heart.

If this was good writing, the bastard would betray everyone just to rule everything. Seriously, don't know why people even like this piece of shit. And I did read it, but I regret I did.
