Kitchen package recommendations
Hi, I’ll be renovating our kitchen in about a month or so. We’re looking at all new appliances, 36” counter depth fridge (with internal ice), 30” induction range, over the range microwave and a dishwasher. We’re looking roughly in the 5-6k range which I think puts us within the GE/GE profile, Frigidaire gallery/Professional price range. We like the industrial touches of the Frigidaire professional line, we also would like the pizza oven feature of some Frigidaire ranges. I do value matching the appliance brands, but it’s not a deal breaker to mix and match. Our current range and fridge are 25 years old and we have a Frigidaire gallery dishwasher that we are generally very happy with.
Any suggestions/tips or things to stay away from? Ps- I will use the search feature as well, but figured it doesn’t hurt to ask some personalized questions too.

I work on 50+ different brands, and though I understand why people want matching appliances, it's not as big a deal anymore as stainless matches stainless pretty well.
OTR microwaves and ranges are largely the same, quality and reliability-wise. I'm not a fan of GE in general, but their fridges and ranges are ok. Their dishwashers and microwaves are not good though, we see higher failure rates on GE than most brands. Their Cafe line is no better, just 4-5X the price.
For OTR MW's and ranges within the same price range, Frigidaire, Whirlpool, Bosch and Maytag are virtually indistinguishable from each other. Since they're on top of each other, matching the two can make sense.
Frigidaire refrigerators DO have the weird short faults mentioned above, and they know it's a problem and are working on a fix. Fortunately the boards are easy to access, but the fans less so. Other than that we don't see a lot of expensive fixes on them. Their dishwashers suck, they should stop making them entirely. Their Electrolux laundry machines are excellent overall.
Whirlpool fridges are better than GE, as are their dishwashers. KitchenAid gets pricier, but it's still a Whirlpool inside so no improvement in reliability or quality there.
Bosch dishwashers are the best of this bunch, their 800 series units are the sweet spot. Don't get anything with a plastic tub, those are junk no matter who builds them. Bosch ranges and fridges are ok, but we see more electronics failures on the fridges than normal.
Since Whirlpool bought Maytag, it seems like they made Maytag a second-tier, lower budget option behind Whirlpool across the board.
So if it was my money, and I wanted a matching suite, Whirlpool would get the order. Nothing fantastic, but solid and reliable machines that are easier and cheaper to fix than most of their competition in the same price range.
Whatever you buy, try to get a good service contract and make sure they actually honor calls and repairs. Any manufacturer will tell you to expect 5-10 years out of an appliance these days, at best.

Thats a pretty light budget with a counter depth fridge and with an induction range.
Mainline GE counter depth fridges and dishwashers are unreliable. GE Profile “base” induction ranges are built poorly, and the dishwashers just as bad as mainline.
Frigidaire ranges are fine (minus recalls) - everything else is pretty darn bad.
This sub (and probably you) will hate this, but LG far and away would fit this budget with the best overall reliability in a 4 piece package…. I would put Whirlpool 2nd, with the biggest question mark being if their new fridge line is any good, and if they even have an induction range available at this point.

I am considering LG because I want a counter depth, black stainless french door with pocket doors. I can't seem to find any other brand similar. I will match it with gas slide in and otr microwave In black stainless. I have a bosch dw and will get another one. If you have the budget I love Berttazoni range and otr microwave. I've had mine for 15 years and it works wonderfully, as does the Bosch.

Frigidaire has been really rough lately, GE is far superior. LG is also a solid choice. 6-8K American or CAD?

Frigidaire quality has recently dropped off a cliff, unfortunately. The evaporator fans in their fridges can short out and cause the whole appliance to lose power 😬
If I were in your position, here's what I would be getting:
Total BEFORE Package Discounts: $7,082.00
GE Profile Innovation Rebate: -$400.00
Total: $6,682.00, and this is all manufacturer pricing/rebates; actual appliance stores will have better package pricing available.
