College Questions college recs??

I’m new to this whole college application process i’m a senior this year i have a 3.53 uw gpa and a 35 superscore act. i’ve taken a handful (maybe 12?) ap classes but i’m just worried about my gpa. i feel like i have good ec’s. planning to major in anything health related (bio, psych, cog sci, neuro) and would like colleges with good medical facilities/opportunities. I also want to have fun and make lots of friends in college so any college that has a fun collorative atmosphere would be great!!
THANK YOU and pls drop recs or your experiences with certain colleges!

If you are US domestic, prehealth students are often well-advised just to take their favorite in-state offer.

But with a 35 ACT, you could also try chasing merit at a variety of cool LACs with strong STEM departments. That's a potentially long list, but some to consider would be Trinity (Texas), Rhodes, Hendrix, Allegheny, Kalamazoo, St Olaf, Juniata, Ursinus, and Earlham. And that is really just a start on a possible list.

Oh nice!! my in state would be University of Washington which is pretty great. Thank you for these recommendations i’ve been looking for schools that could give me merit scholarship!

Yeah, it may seem boringly obvious, but Washington is a great research university, with a beautiful campus, and reportedly it is pretty fun too. So you could just happily go there, assuming you are admitted and it is comfortably affordable.

But you could also look into some very different alternatives, apply to some, and see where you get with merit. Even if you did choose Washington in the end, it can be nice to at least have some different options to consider.

if you are anywhere near Illinois, I recommend Illinois Wesleyan in the highest possible terms

Ahh sorry I should have specified I’m from Washington! So illinois is a little far from me but I honestly don’t have a preference on location. What specific things did you like about Wesleyan? i’ve heard good things about it too

Hi Washington! After the PNW, I’m not sure you’d love IL. McLean County, where IWU is located is very flat. But, it offers the benefits of a small city with easy access to Chicago. Also, about a mile away is Illinois State University. Thus, you get all the advantages of a SLAC, with the research facilities and social amenities of a large state university. Wesleyan is known for its incredible teaching faculty, exceptional programs in health, business, and fine arts. It has an innovative curriculum and unique schedule that allows plenty of opportunity to work on your own research. I am certain this is why I was accepted and fully funded at my (forgive the ridiculous and mythical concept) ”T20” grad school. Travel opportunities abound. Students come from all over, but adapt Midwestern friendliness. So, it is a happy campus where folks belong and are happy to be there. It is a gem!
