ESP32 troubleshoot while uploading code

Post image

I am facing this troubleshoot every time I tried uploading my code on the ESP32 WROOM , I tried everything: Booting , Unplugging the circuit and all . Also all the seeting are correct in my Arduino IDE ( on laptop ) . I have done everything : ESP Module, Device manager to port correction. Everything!!!! Still it is showing the same problem. I tried asking Claude , GPT , Gemini they all told the same thing i have been trying. Also I noticed the board geeting warmer and warmer when I plug it into the usb. Means it is not getting very much heated but gets warm like if we do extreme gaming on our phone and when it burns like that .

Please anyone if you guys can help 🙏🏻😭 . I have spent hours on this and this was for my Science exhibition . I don't have much time it is in 1 day and i need to fix it as soon as possible!!! 😭😭😭

Crazy question but are you using a data transfer cable? Some cables aren’t data transferring. It doesn’t seem like your code is the problem, just not reading that your esp32 is actually connected. ( it might say it is but it isn’t )

Did you download the right libraries for your exact esp32 (there’s different models)

I put 5 cents on "bad cable".

Should I buy a new one then ?

I've received messed up esp32 boards from Amazon before. DOA.

Grab a handful of data cables and try to flash simple code like print mac address. Grab a second esp32 to test with.

Try to connect with your cable to check connection: https://www.espboards.dev/tools/program/

Press and hold boot button, press upload in ide, release boot button

Hold boot, press reset, release boot, select upload in ide.

If this is your first time trying a esp32, make sure you install the right drivers like ch340 or something else depending on the board.

What does the device show up as in device manager?

Do you have another program or terminal open blocking access to the com port?

What gets me is to leave the serial monitor open. Make sure to close the serial monitor in EVERY arduino IDE window. That will clobber your upload.

Try to upload the blink sketch. Sometimes the processor memory has something on it that is crashing your upload.

When it says Connecting and the dots start showing up hold down one if the buttons on the ESP until it starts writing. Then let go. Sorry, I can't remember which button.
