Don’t be discouraged if you have a stank ass ugly art style.

I used to be terrible at drawing. I couldn’t make anything I was satisfied with, and I couldn’t make anything cool. I ESPECIALLY couldn’t make anything I’d ever share with others.

Until I started embracing what made my art mine. I found other artists who had grotesque art styles so I could learn technique, and I found people who entertained others by making the most rancid thing ever seen by human eyes.

I did one caricature sketch, and bang, I found my artistic calling. Then I just kept studying and practicing and getting better! And I had so much fun doing it!

Here’s my progress over the past few years.
Don’t get me wrong I’m not terribly good, but I’m good at making something terrible to look at :D

So don’t get discouraged if your art is unconventional. There are people who will like it :)

It's wonderful. I hate it, but I feel there's a beauty to how It's hateable. I believe every artstyle has an ultimate purpose.

Absolutely love your art style! 👍 Could you maybe name a few artists who inspired you? I'm currently trying to move my art in a similar direction.

Meatcanyon and oneyng for the nasty grotesque stuff, Baki, Mike mignola and Frank miller for anatomy and lighting, and junji ito and Miura for texture.

I don’t try to directly copy anyone, (except Baki sometimes because it’s really funny to me), but I try to reverse engineer their art to understand why they made the decisions they made.

Thank you! 👍 Do you also have any tips on how to achieve faces like in pictures 2 and 3 for example? Whenever I try something like that, it always ends up looking way too safe 😭

When it comes to caricatures and creepy faces, dial it WAY past 11, then figure out what you need to reign in.
