Okay well, I took one class of art my freshman year of highschool and I loved it (I never was into art or such before hs).
And well I only liked drawing.
But we did so much of not drawing that it took my experience away from art in a way, or well the path I wanted to go down (it was still really fun class)
The first picture is a drawing I did freshman year, and the second one is I did start of Sophomore year (two years ago), but I finished half and got burnt out and finished the rest today (this year now).
The last two are just random cool sketches I found, but I feel like I had more I think I just threw my old notebook out.
And finishing the second drawing today made me realize I have no clue how to draw.
I can only really draw with a reference or picture right in front of me, but that doesn't really feel like drawing? It feels like I'm just copying the art and I'm not really making anything new or truly using any artistic value.
I want to learn to draw from memory or like I don't know just apply myself more how other people do.
Before you say look up a tutorial or read a how to draw book I have tried that but it feels like I can't learn that way.
I spent freshman year and sophomore year trying to learn anatomy, angles and depth through drawing boxes and pipes and those little mannequin figures in different poses, or with scenery with those intersecting lines that all go through the middle, everyday and I think after not seeing myself improve after almost a full year I gave up and threw my notebook out.
Drawing today kind of inspired me to try and get into the hobby again but I just don't know where to really start.
