Meta Sorry folks, but the PT/Gym question addict is changing tactics again, so:
I had to do some behind the scenes bizarre tweaks that might catch some good faith questions due to the desperate tactics they're resorting to making me have to write some weird code.
Again, apologies in advance if your question has to sit in limbo for a while; you can thank the misguided or ill person who "totally innocently just wants to ask if our police station has a gym" 500 times.

You're welcome! I'd be lying if I said it isn't kinda fun to think of new ways to counteract them, but what annoys me is when it potentially affects y'all, like this new move might. On the upside it shouldn't affect anyone with older accounts, but I firmly believe people asking anonymous questions in good faith should be allowed, and it definitely affects them.
I guess we'll see how it goes.

40% study?

TL;DR: A deeply flawed survey in the 90s reported that violent (and violent-adjacent) behavior is present in the homes of a self-reported 40% of LEOs, including cases where the LEOs themselves were the victims.
But because reading comprehension is rarely the strong suit of ACABers, that's all it takes for them to run around celebrating that "40% of cops beat their wives." The irony that they are giggling about domestic violence at the expense of a group of people generally committed to trying to stop the phenomenon never occurs to them.

Ahh liberals… next thing you know, they’ll be saying law enforcement officers commit sexual assault at twice the rate of the general public. Ridiculous!

That's such a dishonest and silly take I can't tell if you're being ridiculous because you're blindly pro-LEO or because you're rabidly anti-LEO, but both are frowned upon in this subreddit so maybe find something else to do with your time.

Don't suppose you could get an admin to issue a ban for continually trolling the subreddit? Sounds extreme, I know.

I don't think it's an extreme suggestion, but to their credit they're already aware of the issue. I don't know if it's in response to the admin-level report I filed, but they're on it now.
Unfortunately their countermeasures generally only seem to take effect an hour or so after the problem person makes a new account and posts; the account gets suspended but scrubbing/preventing the posts are evidently on us volunteer moderators.
It's a bit disheartening when one sneaks through every few months and people seem to get irritated, stating that our moderators here aren't doing enough, but if only y'all saw the enormous moderator log this person's post removals produces. The PT/gym questions alone take up around 1/4 of all moderator actions.

To my rudimentary understanding, an admin ban is an IP ban. The troll would need to be above-average dedicated to go through the effort of circumventing it.
But at least they're aware.

Yeah from my perspective without seeing all of their homework, it very much looks like a device fingerprint or IP ban that simply allows someone to create an account but bans them shortly after they post on a subreddit they're already banned from. I'm aware of other people being allowed to do similar.
The admins are notoriously opaque on stuff like this, so I'm just guessing. Why else would the accounts that make these posts get suspended by the admins within an hour or two of their posts here, usually before I even see the new posts?

As you can see, they are testing to see what triggers our filter for manual review.
As you can also see, 1/13 of their posts (the last one) did make it through, but as some of you found out, enough reports also set aside posts for manual review, and enough of you did exactly that.
Thanks for your efforts, folks.
