I don't even know but it's generous.
I've never come close to running out. I have hundreds of hours at this point.
I just call and say "I'm sick" and they put me out. I get full pay.
I think after like 3 or 4 days you need a doctor's note.

We get 10hrs a month. Sick time can be used whenever but must be used when we are below patrol minimums, if we have sufficient staffing then holiday or vacation time can be used instead. Every year there is an accumulation cap of 600 sick time hours. If you get over that 600, you get a check for whatever is leftover.

I think it comes down to something like 10 shifts a year or so?
No cash-out. You have to call in to the district office front desk at least an hour prior to shift start.
Technically there's no restriction on when you use it, but in reality if your shift is short you will be pressured by a supervisor to come in anyway.

Unlimited. I had a nasty flu and my detachment commander sent me home for 5 days straight until I got better, didn't have to worry about any hours.

In NYPD it’s “unlimited” but you’ll go chronic and then IAB is gonna make sure you’re not screwing around lol

- 18 sick days a year
- Tops at 90 days
- If you go over those days are used like vacation days in the first 6 months of the following year
- Doctors note need for more than 3 days

Accumulate about 2.4 hrs/week (we are paid weekly), can cash out half of up to 1600 at your rate upon retirement (I.e., 800 hours at captain rate of pay, even if you’re only a captain for a day). Nice chunk of change walking out the door 👍🏼.

Earn 96 hours a year. Accumulation to 1500 hours. Once you hit 1000, you can cash out 500 at 25% pay. There is basically no restriction on use as long as you have the time. We had a guy call in sick once and then he was at a wedding that night and HR’s response was “you can’t prove he wasn’t too sick to be at work.” At least you know you’re never getting questioned if you need to bang in.
