What is a quiet realization you had about your life when you hit your forties or fifties that nobody talks about in your twenties?

Time...it is not that people don't talk about it, it is that when you are younger you really don't understand how fast it will go. Your 20's and 30's are amazing and so much fun but I swear, you wake up one day and they are gone. Of course you knew it was going to happen but then it happens. And it changes.

Spot on. You wake up one day and wonder where the time went, but the second half is arguably the best half. You finally trade the heavy weight of chasing expectations for the pure joy of actually living. You have earned the wisdom, the perspective, and the freedom to make this chapter the absolute best part of the journey.
