What's an incredibly petty reason you would refuse to date someone, even if everything else about them was perfect?

Using AI chatbots to make personal decisions, I just can't.

Reminds me of this BORU post I saw recently where this person's ex used an AI jury to prove themselves right in an argument.

That’s so shitty. I find AI will bias towards the users opinion.

If I’m chatting with AI about an argument or something that has nuance, I will specifically ask it what my bias is/blindspots, what the gaps are in my viewpoint and the things I may be missing or misunderstanding.

Generally speaking if I’ve gone to AI it’s to understand the argument, not get validation. Wait, no - not true. I generally want validation, but I am seeking an objective view of our discussion, not an echo chamber.

I don't think they'd be perfect then

Yes this, although this feel big to me.. I don’t know if it’s so petty as it is just a difference of values. Even still no Ai near me thank you

Maybe you're right. It's just that I've seen so many people using an AI chatbot for such personal things that I thought it was conventionally accepted. This guy I dated for a few months used the damn AI chatbot for absolutely everything - he even talked to that thing... It reached a point where I thought he’d decided to outsource thinking to the chatbot. He analysed our text exchanges in the chatbot, psychoanalysed himself there, and even used an AI chatbot to decide between future flatmates. Can you be more of an NPC than this?

Sounds pretty smart to me. Getting possibly new input, new perspectives instead of relying on too few or just the own interpretation of things with possible blindspots. As long as they are not using it for every single thing and have some own opinions. In that case, they need professional help and encouragement instead of people telling them they're disgusting. My 2 cents.

Hmmm, I might have to try this when the "Should I have rice or potatoes with the chicken tonight" rears it's ugly head. Just flipping a coin and landing on potatoes leads to what kind I should have. Baked, roasted, , boiled, mashed. So many decisions.

That's not really petty

I use ChatGPT for this kind of stuff all the time - but it depends what you mean.

I generally talk, given it’s during a commute, but I use the AI to discuss all my thoughts, pros, cons, etc. and rationalise out all of my thinking to help support my decision making. I don’t think that’s a bad thing? I tend to agonise of certain types of decisions and it saves me from boring the people in my life to death with my constant stream of indecisive babble. I don’t have enough friends as it is without chasing them off with that. I even feel bad for ChatGPT.

I don’t just go “hey, tell me what to do” and go blindly into the night though.

It’s interesting to know using AI in this way is seen as a turn off though lol. Sorry.
