What's an incredibly petty reason you would refuse to date someone, even if everything else about them was perfect?

I’ve actually rejected a guy because we talked about movies and he told me that he usually watches YouTube breakdowns instead of the movies themselves.

That’s psychotic

No no, the question was “petty” reasons, not legitimate ones.

I didn’t realize people would agree with my decision lol. The date went pretty good besides that. I just can’t be with someone that doesn’t support the art and doesn’t mind spoilers in any way.

I was in grade 12 when Facebook expanded beyond college students, and I remember the profiles having a field for favourite books, movies, etc. I tried to talk to a guy about one of his favourite books once and he told me (proudly!) that he hadn't read any of the books on his list but he'd read brief summaries of them and seen all those books on a list of books most well-read people have read. Then he said something like, "I hope to be able to get around to reading one of them one day."

That’s wild lol. I guess I can sort of understand because reading takes a certain time dedication, but why spoil the whole thing without enjoying it? It never has the same impact. I’d not love half the books if I’ve read if I read a full synopsis prior to reading.

I think maybe nowadays that's the move for most of the crap being produced 😂
