Ease of transactions, just a quick tap, no handing the device back and forth, no tip form to fill out, card never leaves your hand.
Walkability, but some of the sidewalks are old/uneven. Didn’t feel like I had to be concerned with someone driving into me crossing the road.
Personally, I love the mayo with chips/fries over ketchup served in the states.
Place Charles de Gaulle only works because drivers know to share the road. Americans feel like they own their part of the road, and no one should interfere with their rate of travel. A major roundabout like that would be a disaster in America.
First restaurant I went to in US took my card somewhere to charge it and I had to struggle to not follow the waiter. it was against everything I've ever been taught about using credit cards in Europe. The card should never leave your sight.
I don't remember the last time I handed over my CC to someone. I mostly use my phone and watch to pay and if they don't take them, I only had to tap my card. The bigger problem I have is having to fill out the tip and sign. That whole dance only exists because of the tipping culture; there's actually no need to sign with chipped credit card these days. One can only dream you can simply tap and go.
