Is this another peaceful church burning ?

u/aukstais 7h ago

Townhall this time. So, actual government building. The fact that France holds most debt to GDP from all the EU countries makes these protests even worse for them.

u/Excellent_Mud6222 6h ago

It's also a historical building made around 150 years ago with many cultural pieces inside it.

If after an attack against a government building is not answered by deploying the military then I now 100% give up on France saving itself at all.

You could have given the excuse of the military not being deployed because the ones at the top are not affected so they dont give a fuck what happens to their own civilians. Now that their own structures of power are being attack, you would belief they would give a shit.

Fiery, but mostly peaceful.

u/Tactical_Ferrets 3h ago

Its cold outside, they just trying to stay warm.

78

u/Tactical_Ferrets 6h ago

No no, its a peaceful protest for the unjust treatment of Palestine gays. Obviously its the churches fault.

u/J1mj0hns0n 6h ago

yes its peacefully immolating under the october winds, the burns crack and crepitates under the strain of peace and purity, the roof tiles fall like smoke listing out a stationary thurible, the art and stained glass forms gossamer as the soot fills in the gaps, the peacefulness of it, the windows cannot sustain integrity, and slough down the side of the church, chittering against the stone as it falls, dink, kink, a brief pause of silence, shattered into dust on the stone floor, as 143 years of history whisper away, the cinders squeak and crackle as the blaze slows to a susurrus, as the charcoal smoulders gently in the the autumns irreverent breeze. peaceful.

That town hall survived two world wars and German occupation, but not "diversity".

175

u/TheStigianKing 6h ago

Hope the French will finally realize who the real baddies are.

79

u/Medical-Nebula-385 6h ago

Poor game store owner also became a victim. :(

13

u/WorstFkGamer 3h ago

I saw a video of another store being looted and burned downed as the store owner pleaded with them not to do it.

13

u/WorstFkGamer 3h ago

They needed those engineers and doctors though pretty badly.

Reminds of that spaniard girl who let some foreign dude that she met let live in her house and then the dude turned it around on her kicked out of her own house and she was cool with it.

9

u/WorstFkGamer 1h ago

It was the JEWS!. I'm joking absolutely.

2

u/Amokmorg 1h ago

•

u/CryostaticLT 45m ago

Yeah. Russians with le pen.

43

u/WorstFkGamer 4h ago

Trump will be blamed for this somehow.

24

u/Astatine8585 3h ago

He closed the border so future doctors go to Europe instead

10

u/WorstFkGamer 3h ago

Smart move.

Larger protests around France occured largely due to rising costs of living. To be clear, the people who did this should be criminally charged. But the protests were largely due to oil prices rising dramatically as of late.

11

u/WorstFkGamer 3h ago

Didn't it start because of poor school conditions and no ac?

-1

u/ILDIBER 2h ago

France and many others have been struggling with servicing their debt, as the cost to borrow increased recently. This basically forces France to reduce services. And people there are absolutely pissed.

Such dramatic oil price increases causes all sorts of ramifications, but I'll admit it's only a part of it, like all problems.

4

u/WorstFkGamer 1h ago

That sucks. I one day wanted to see France and all their art, food, buildings, churches, and amazing statues they got out there but it's being destroyed by the people who live there. That macron guy ain't doing nothing but writing tweets right now and letting his country burn. The people on top who let this happened should face charges for this.

-2

u/ILDIBER 1h ago

France only has two choices. One is to cut spending, or keep funding the services. One will solve the debt problem, but be politically untenable. Other leads to bankruptcy, which is possible. Many believe the EU will bail France out, but it won't solve the long term issues. Macron is frankly in an unenviable position.

Could he send out more police? I mean sure. But it solves the symptom, not the core issue. And at the end of the day, bad actors were only able to do this because of the unrest in France. While the main blame is on those who torched the building, the national protests happening in France is part of a much bigger issue which most people don't care about. Nor do they seem to care or hold Trump accountable for his actions which had negatively effected practically every economy in the world.

2

u/WorstFkGamer 1h ago

Damn give me a sec to process this. If I knew I would be having a intelligent conversation right now I wouldn't be drinking at this moment.

•

u/WorstFkGamer 48m ago

The question is will they send out the military for this because the cops are losing the fight right now and how much is France willing to give up before it's all burned down and looted?

•

u/ILDIBER 25m ago

I mean, they'll do whatever necessary I assume. You'll stop the looters and the arsonists I'm sure. I hope they control the chaos. I'm all for it. But until you remove the unrest bad actors can utilize, this is going to keep happening.

•

u/WorstFkGamer 20m ago

I agree. Now real question is how much of this chaos has put France in a deeper hole?

u/septictank84 6h ago

We're the baddies for thinking this is wrong. What a time to be alive 🙄

63

u/ftez 6h ago

Yeah the discourse around this is basically "french people riot, get over it", and that you're a fascist if you have any criticism over this.

42

u/umbrawolfx 5h ago

I've seen very few native French in the videos. Mostly people with really curly short hair.

29

u/ftez 5h ago

Engineers

22

u/KittehKittehKat 4h ago

Most of Reddit is still gleefully supporting this as a “protest”.

173

u/Competitive_Soil_246 7h ago

You deserve what you tolerate.

35

u/_D80Buckeye 5h ago

and what you vote for

18

u/200DivsAnHour 3h ago

Okay, at this point people gotta be trolling. Nobody in Europe voted for this. We literally had the choice between politicians who promised more migrants and politicians who promised more open borders. Then after that it was a choice between politicians who lied about less migration and politicians who lied about closed borders.

Germany's head honcho literally has an approval rating of 13%, you really think anyone voted for that?

4

u/Amokmorg 1h ago

lmao. most of the eussr gladly voting for commie-globalist-green garbage.

who cares that braindead blackrock puppet has 13% rating if germany still for for the same crap just in different GREEN colours?

•

u/Viciuniversum 27m ago

You voted for this with your passivity.

63

u/Different_Rub_988 7h ago

The bell tower of Limoges town hall has collapsed. The 143-year-old historic building was attacked and set ablaze during intense unrest and clashes that erupted on the sidelines of cost-of-living and student protests in France.

35

u/Capn_Chryssalid 6h ago

Enriching. This is probably good for GDP when it gets rebuilt as a mosque.

78

u/Tricky-Wishbone-1162 6h ago

The left is pro this

29

u/Crypto_Force_X 6h ago

Kinda makes me wonder if Europe has insurance.

14

u/emerging-tub 6h ago

They sure do, it's called America

23

u/Every-Development398 5h ago

This will likely result over time in people swinging hard right.

20

u/c_alvy07 5h ago

The tolerant left embracing mostly peaceful protests 🤗

58

u/Jameswoody37 6h ago

Toleration is a sin.

9

u/EH042 4h ago

The rewards for tolerance are treachery and betrayal

39

u/moonye_man 7h ago

And they did it with palestine flag in hands 🙌🏼

12

u/BennyBoombox Dr Pepper Enjoyer 5h ago

So how is that diversity initiative going?

13

u/negativ32 3h ago

If there ever was a need to deploy the army...

5

u/Alternative_Bat7403 2h ago

The French have an army?

5

u/negativ32 2h ago

You'd think not.

•

u/Leather_Fall_1602 38m ago

You are joking right?

11

u/Genocider2019 4h ago

Is this the start of Diversity War 1? You can't even say its war because the opposing side isn't even fighting back because they're being held by their own side's law.

10

u/friedrice_rob 3h ago

Sad to see historical sites get wrecked ;(

4

u/luvurneighbor 1h ago

9

Conversation is locked in r/actualpublicfreakouts
No one there can agree what the problems are. Not even the fire has been pinned down as a negative.

IF ONLY WE'D KNOW WHO

5

u/HanikGraf007 3h ago
