Question A possible, potential doubleheader on October 24 at SFA?
They both do play on the same day but the schedule on October 24 is on different times. Game 4 for the Dream is at 3:30 pm ET while the Hawks’ home game is at 8:00 pm ET
So why not have a doubleheader on the same court?

might work in nba2k but not real life. it’s already hard enough for most arenas to do back to back games converting between ice or concert back to basketball

It takes several hours for an arena to switch courts over. Even if the Dream game ended at 6PM on the dot that still leaves only 2 hours to switch the court over. That's not enough time, it's simply not possible, unless the WNBA or NBA changes the start time, which neither of them will do for a multitude of reasons.

i do wish they could figure it out at SFA. i don’t think people are being fair with the hawks organization.

I was reading about this on [r/wnba](r/wnba) and people were in the comments talking about how awful and hopeless the Hawks are and they should give way to the Dream. I made a respectful comment just pointing out that the Hawks are actually in a decent spot and then I was permanently banned lol. Apparently NBA talk is only allowed over there if it’s hateful.

Because nobody there actually keeps up with the NBA. Any NBA related conversation there is met with weird amounts of vitriol.

The online bile being hurled at the Hawks for something they had nothing to do with is really fucking annoying.

Apologies to Hawks fans. This is not meant to be a offensive post towards the Hawks organization.
I just thought it would work out well like in those college basketball games during early-season invite tournaments, conference tournaments and March Madness for example. But yeah I guess it might not work for NBA and WNBA pro-level basketball.

Oh, I didn't take this post as offensive. I was just talking about the overall online pile-on about how awful the Hawks are for not postponing their home opener.
As far as your suggestion about a doubleheader -- maybe it would work if NBC were willing to move the Dream game to noon? Maybe that would be enough of a window to play the game, clear the arena, switch the floor, etc. But it feels like getting a TV network to budge on a broadcast window would be even harder than getting the NBA to change its schedule.

That’s a logistical impossibility. There’s a lot more that goes into a WNBA Finals game and a NBA home opener than just the basketball game.
