Hey y'all,

Hoping somebody sees it out somewhere or maybe whoever took it is smart enough to just bring it back but my moped was stolen from west campus last night near the corner of san garbriel and W26th st likely between 11:30pm on 10/15 and noon today (10/16). if you drove by where it was taken and have any dashcam footage from that time i’d love if i could at least pin down more precisely what time it got taken so i can more easily go through security footage anywhere i can get ahold of nearby.

It's a 1983 Honda C70 (photo attached)

If you see it out or on marketplace please don't hesitate to reach out. I put a lot of time, money, and work into getting it running and it sucks that some dickhead just took it.

Most items are used, but a few are brand new out of box, never used. If there is any interest, send DM and I will send pics. Some items could be free ;-)

Looking for motorcycle gear recommendations (Austin, TX)

Hey everyone! I'm looking for affordable gear for street riding and future track days.

I need a helmet, jacket, gloves, riding pants, and boots. I'm happy to buy used gear to save money, but I want to buy the helmet new.

A few questions:

• What brands/models offer the best value?
• What gear is suitable for both street riding and track days?
• Where can I find good used gear around Austin?
• Any recommendations for shops where I can try on helmets?

Appreciate any advice. Thanks!

Hi guys,

My motorcycle was stolen sometime between October 6-7 from my locked apartment parking garage in mueller. Asking for some extra set of eyes if you spot this out on road, i would appreciate a heads up!

This was a precious piece of metal, something that brought me genuine joy..i dont have high hopes of seeing it again but i wanted to still give this a shot!

Hey fellow Austin riders, I just found this sub today. Looking for extra sets of eyes.

Sometime in the past 72 hours, someone stole my black 2019 Ninja ZX1000 from my apartment parking garage, on the east side of downtown along I-35.

If you happen to see it around, I’d appreciate hearing about it. Keep being awesome y’all 🤙🏼

Hey guys! Looking for advice on my first motorcycle. I'm deciding between the Ninja 500, Ninja 650, and CBR500R. I've ridden scooters/mopeds for almost 8 years in Southeast Asia, including on rough roads and with multiple passengers. I've also done some dirt biking and recently completed my first motorcycle course in the US on a dual-sport. I picked it up pretty quickly and felt comfortable, although sharp U-turns without putting my foot down were a little challenging. I've never ridden on US public roads before, so that's something I'm still getting used to. I'm looking for a bike to commute around Austin, handle highways comfortably, and eventually learn proper cornering and track skills like dragging a knee. I'll probably buy used through Facebook Marketplace to save money. Any recommendations between these three bikes, or suggestions for affordable used-bike dealerships around Austin? Would really appreciate your advice. Thanks!

I've got space in Liberty Hill on HWY 29 If anyone is looking for wintertime storage/work space. I've got three on-going projects, a car lift, bike lift etc. Im not going to spam in here. Hit me up on PM if your interested. Im a tig welder/fabricator by trade.

I just bought a Jacket from Facebook marketplace and I saw this sticky black thing in its Arms (second picture). What is it and how do I get rid of that?

Join us friends - all bikes, all folks welcome!

Hi, I’ve had my motorcycle for over a year but I haven’t met many people that ride in my day-to-day though I see plenty of riders on the streets of Austin, which gives me some hope. A kind biker even helped give me a push for a bump start at a gas station a couple weeks ago lol. I’m looking for sensible people to enjoy the hobby with, since I have a itty bitty bike (cb300r)

HCTRA has charged me multiple times for tolls on someone else's bike. Always for State Highway 130 Cameron Plaza North. Had to call HCTRA multiple times to get credit for these bogus charges. Apparently, someone with almost the same plate number has moved their plate to make it hard for the toll cameras to see it. Then the software fails to correctly identify the actual plate number.

I'm stuck having to monitor my account for these fraudulent charges. I'm calling every agency I can think of to track down this guy but no success yet. All over a .95 cent toll he is apparently too poor to cover. Or he's taking a stand against "the man".

Keep an eye on your tolls if you have an account with HCTRA.

Question for the masses…. I sold my 883 now totally regretting and missing my bike. I’m thinking of getting a Nightster anyone familiar with the bike? Does it ride better or same as 883? Should I consider a Bob? Im a Sunday rider kinda gal so don’t need anything huge or fancy.. just missing my bike! Thanks for reading!

So I traded up to this for 2 bikes I have became disinterested in. It has 2200 miles and runs excellent(MY GOD DOES IT PULL!) It was laid down my the previous owner. Of course it had to be on the spicy side. The Toce exhaust is pretty much trashed from the hit. It’s missing both the radiator shrouds and passenger grab handles. The front fender is cracked but livable for the short term. I’m looking for a little less aggressive sounding exhaust and a good source for the missing items. Possibly all 3 number plates. Input is greatly appreciated !

Austin / #LCR riders — stolen gear awareness

Sharing this mainly so the local motorcycle community is aware in case these items surface later in the used market.

On Sept. 25 between roughly 6:00–6:15 PM, I was at Coco’s/Shell Gas station at 15101 Anderson Mill Rd near Lime Creek Road. I was seated at the outdoor benches and then moved my bike over to fuel up. My helmet and gloves remained on the table for only a few minutes when I filling gas.

When I returned for them a few minutes later, they were gone.

The stolen items were:

* Grey Shoei GT-Air 3 helmet (new) with GoPro ChinMount

* Cardo Packtalk Pro mounted on the helmet

* Black/white Alpinestars SMX V2 gloves

I’ve mentally written the gear off and recovery is not my objective.

I’m posting this because there is a reasonable chance the items could eventually be resold locally, and I’d rather my fellow riders are aware before unknowingly buying possibly stolen riding gear.

Just as important: please don’t assume that anyone wearing a similar grey Shoei helmet or similar gloves has anything to do with this. These are common products, and I have no interest in stigmatizing another rider based on appearance alone.

If you happen to see a listing that looks unusually close to this exact combination of helmet, Cardo and gloves, just keep the context in mind. No confrontation, no witch hunt.

The station has surveillance footage that I’ll be reviewing for follow up.

Mostly sharing this as a reminder that even at a familiar motorcycle stop, gear can disappear very quickly.

Look out for your stuff and for each other and ride safe peeps.

Cheers

Just got my first cafe racer to ride. Currently own this, a 2003 Indian Chief and 2 Vespas. Don’t know any riders in Austin, even though I’ve lived here since 2008. Technically, in Cedar Park, but right on the Austin line.

A little change of plans for this Thursday. Moto Garden won't be happening tonight, but there's still a good reason to head over to Central Machine Works.

The Motet is taking over the yard tonight with their Funk Is Dead show, presented by Central Machine Works and Resound.

If you're looking for something to do, head over, catch some live music and support our friends at CMW. It's free to the public!

We'll be back next Thursday for our usual bike night. Until then, enjoy the music and have a good weekend.

See y'all next week, Austin!

1971 BSA Lightning 650 — $2400 OBO | East Austin

Classic British twin freshly refreshed and ready to ride. Recent work includes new Amal 930 Premier carbs, Sure-Fire 12V electronic ignition, Dunlop Gold Seal tires, new chain/tensioner, all fluids/gaskets, and a full rubber refresh — all done by Limey Bikes here in Austin. Clean TX title, keys, and all receipts in hand.

Runs strong but this is a vintage Brit — it takes a minute to wake up, especially after sitting. Oil wet sumps (upgraded drain installed to make it manageable). Header cross tube has minor cracks that don't affect running but the bike does have typical vintage vibration.

~$3,100 invested in the bike and recent refresh. Asking $2400 — motivated seller, OBO. Will consider trades for a reliable daily commuter. (505) 730-7004

I live near Briggs with a shop and wanted to reach out to the community. If anyone needs a space to work on their bike, or wants a hand with basic maintenance, I’m happy to offer up my space and pitch in.

I can help out with work like: (or just leave you alone)

• Oil & filter changes
• Chain cleaning, adjustment, and lubrication
• Replacing turn signals, tail tidy, etc
• Exhaust swap
• etc

Feel free to shoot me a DM.
